Would you serve

If an old god landed on earth, and started screaming into your mind “I AM A GOD, SERVE ME AND WE WILL REBUILD MY EMPIRE” like in the Azshara warbringer cinematic, would you serve this creature as your god or attempt to resist the endless waves of old god spawn?

star trek was just a movie dude

Depends if people can pay off there student loans by serving him, or free healthcare/dental.

Depends on what the consequences of refusing him would be.

If it means certain death then it’s easier to live another day.

Alleria and Umbric certainly seem to have their powers greatly enhanced by the void so I certainly find that atleast somewhat alluring.

On another character I roleplay in Stormsong Valley, I am a Stormsong citizen and a mage that has ‘some’ interest in the void but only to the extent that lets me remain in control of myself.
Not all followers of King Stormsong are K’thir or necessarily aspire to be.

Seriously,I would question that in a spiritual sense before rushing to just fellow anything the mind can dream up.

Well you’d have some proof to its claims when hordes of N’raqi start attacking your city.

That’s a different matter then self serving ,that involves other lives than ones self.Anyone would fight for family.

But the tentacle monster from the sky accepts everyone! You can bring your family with you!

as long as I can be a chaos marine maybe…

The old gods acknowledge all possibilities!

welp Blood for the blood god!

Well, sorry they already tried did it work? nope.

I would assume an Old God landing on Earth wouldnt immediately go full black empire tentacle monster serve me or else.

With no prior history on this planet of knowing what a big spooky monster they are, they’d probably go the way of Sif in Storm Peaks and adopt a much more conniving, seductive, I’m actually a benevolent being pulling the strings behind the scenes method, and people would fall for it until it’s too late.

PRetty sure it’s C’thulu inspired, not chaos gods one.
But i like yer spirit

It depends which one, different old gods have different personalities and ways of doing things. N’zoth is very cunning and wise, and would try the method you mention. Y’shaarj for example would simply use its immense might and ferocity to get everyone to obey or die, since it was stronger than the other old gods, and tended to work in more direct, brute force ways.

Yeah, more gross mindless fish people, less badass chaotic super soldier.

Well we dont know that’s canonically true, only that Y’shaarj was the strongest. I’d imagine he was extremely cunning as well.

Mindless, not so much, if you get enough old god brownie points maybe they turn you into a C’thrax, then you could probably beat to death any Chaos marine with ease!

Who knows? Depends on what the odds are that we’ll successfully kill the old god should we fight back.
