Would you rather SoD be "expanded content", or go in a whole new direction?

I’m sort of referring more to “story” and thematic elements.

For example, how would you feel if they took a whole different approach to adding new content, like having us exploring Quel’thalas as a higher-level zone with different activities, or even repurposing Silvermoon City as a raid? Or flip-flopping the Blood Elves joining the Alliance, and the “Eredar” joining the Horde?

Or heck, even just continuing to add content to the Vanilla world alone?

Or are you hoping to see them just roll into TBC content next, and similarly “remix” things there?

They have said we aren’t going to TBC and that sod is going into maintenance mode after phase 8.

If they continued SoD, I would like it to go in a new direction. Turning Silvermoon into a raid just sounds like Sunwell redone.

I’d like them to use the various things that got cut. Stormwind sewers has a raid entrance portal. There are various zones that appear on the continental maps that don’t actually exist.

I want the horde to get ogres, and the alliance to get high elves. High elves kinda boring, tbh, but they weren’t done in other versions of WoW, so it would be somewhat new.

I want to see mage, priest, and hunter tanks. All different, but no reason all classes can’t tank. And I want warlock healers, some form of blood transfer, draining life to themselves and passing it to others. That would only leave rogues, hunters, and warriors unable to heal, and I just can’t think of a way for them to do that that makes any sense.

And WoW has always been missing a bard class. People would eat that up. Ogre bards would be sick.

And if you REALLY want to go off the wall, get rid of factions. Alliance and horde welcome in each others cities, grouping as you like. Or, make a third faction, hostile to both the other two, and the only race in it is murlocs. Or murlocs and Naga. People would play murlocs.

There are tons of opportunities that aren’t just reusing other expansions. And as for story, there really hasn’t been much in SoD. Just the crafting storyline, and the dudes in sunglasses. Other than that, it’s the same classic wow story.

I would love to see them roll right into TBC

Or give us all spaceships and massive galaxies to explore like “No mans sky”

“Cows in space”
Make it happen

pls point me at this online, been having discussions in guild.

It’s on bluesky Mr aggrend posted it

I would like to see a mix of cut content and also new content in Classic style.

New Races I think are a needed.

As mentioned prior Ogres and High Elves make the most sense for Classic theme, because those races already existed in the Alliance and Horde during that era.

High Elves can also bring the popularity of blood elf appearance of TBC (though with blue eyes) without going to Outland.

Maybe the Quel’Danil Lodge in the Hinterlands could be repurposed as a high elf starting zone.

Have them also be a paladin race. Human, dwarf, high elves together really brings out that LoTR style look.

Let Ogres be Shamans.

I could totally see Ogres on the Horde and Elves on the Alliance! They would’ve already adopted the “Blood Elf” moniker, but I suppose they could make out that they had splintered off. And in fairness, with Dwarves/Gnomes sharing a starting zone as well as Orcs/Trolls, it wouldn’t be the craziest thing in the world to have shared starting zones for these “new” races. High/Blood Elves would make sense in Elwynn Forest, I would imagine Ogres would fit in the best at Durotar, but having them start in Mulgore alongside Tauren wouldn’t be insane.

I personally also kind of love the idea of getting a “Death Knight” of some sort. Even if it was just a repurposed Paladin, like giving all of their spells and talents different names and art (with their “healing” being more associated with dark magic stitching their wounds up, resurrection being outright necromancy).

Ogres have no women models.
Genderlocked in 2025 would cause people to go berzerk.

Repurposing Sunwell to become a PvP event where the horde and alliance rush to control the well for increased power. Winning faction gets unique a world buff or ability useful in PvE for a couple of hours until the next event

Oh and let’s have a Blood Elf Spellbreaker class. They were huge in WC3. Make them as a ranged tank (20 yards) with glaive, shield and some spell reflect abilities. Specializing in tanking ranged mobs, maybe new mechanics to make them crucial in raid and make them strong vs casters in PvP

I’m hoping if a Deathknight class comes out, that it’s Horde only just because it makes sense (WC2 had orc Dks and WC3 had undead ones).

To add flavor, alliance could get Demon Hunters, but they missed a big opportunity by designing the warlock like they did with Meta.

I wouldn’t mind if they reworked warlocks to make DH unique.

It could be kind of cool to explore new classes, although I had a hard time seeing them add a whole new class that doesn’t already exist in Retail (and even existing classes might be a bit of a stretch).

I suppose adding the Demon Hunter for TBC (even a “classic” spin on it) could make sense, too.

That said, I could see it making some sense to have content where we clear Quel’thalas of its Scourge remnants. Could be kind of cool to see a spin on that, maybe Blood Elves being a cross-faction race this time around? Or yeah, exploring the “alternate history” route of them rejoining the Alliance, although that would definitely be a pretty significant change. But that’s also part of what makes SoD exciting, the idea of just trying all new stuff.

I’ve personally been a long fan of adding a third faction to the mix and was disapointed when Illidan was made a bad guy in TBC.

In WC3 lore, Illidan, unhappy with the alliance and horde’s petty fighting, decides to take matters into his own hands and creates a third faction composed of Nagas and Blood Elves to follow him onto outlands and defeat demons.

What if they were successful in their campaign there, remained uncorrupted by Fel and found what they were searching for over there in the first place?

And then they came back through the dark portal to fight both alliance and horde?

They could have Quel’Thalas and a Naga island as a starter Zone

While I personally would like to play a High Elf in Classic+, the main issue is server/faction balance.

Classic Alliance already has the benefit of having “attractive races”, humans and night elves being very popular.

That was one of the reasons why Blood Elves were added to the Horde in TBC, which increased its population.

So a Classic+ Alliance with Two elf races and Horde Zero would really create further imbalance.

Sure High Elves are playable in a Classic world on a certain non-blizz server, but they have the advantage of cross faction grouping/guilds. So alliance having more players does not have the same affect since horde players can play with them.

I don’t think blizz would introduce that cross faction stuff in a Classic+, but keep the faction barrier.

So I don’t think it would work well for a true Classic+. Unless Blizzard was able to find a new attractive/popular race to add to the Horde to counterbalance high elf player count. Other then blood elves, I can’t think of any other ideas.

I think then the first race that should be added to Classic+ is a neutral race. Goblins fit the best for this since they already are a neutral race in regular Classic. You also don’t need some new story of goblins splitting up into new factions to join the Horde or Alliance. Game mechanics the playable goblin is either red or blue, but lore wise your not truly part of said faction, just working for whomever pays you. lvl 1-10 can be a new starting zone that all goblins share. But afterwards instead of the pandaren choice of “choose which faction”, its more like “here are some job offers for said faction”.

Pandaren should also be neutral, not forced to chise a faction imo

completing the unfinished content would be a great start.

i mean who doesnt want hyjal or the emerald dream or the azshara crater battleground or any of the other stuff they could go wild with?

sure put in some raids and scarlet stuff and all that but there was so much left on the cutting room floor back then they could have new content every 3 months for 2 years.

heck even rank 15 would be amazing.
