Would You Rather Have A New Spec Every Expansion Or A New Class Every 2 or 3 Expansions?

Option 1: We get one new Spec for one random Class every expansion from now on until all Classes get 4 specs or until the game dies, whatever happens first.

Option 2: We continue business as usual with no changes. Every 2 or 3 Expansions we get a new Class, as has always happened.

Neither. I’d prefer more character customization every expansion.

We don’t need more specs/classes for the neckbeards to cry about class balance.

I dont want either. They need to pick a path and stick to it. I’m tired of specs changing, getting nerfed, getting reworked, etc. I think new classes should be a rarity. I don’t know what they were thinking when they made DH. It could disppear from the game and have no effect. Nor am I interested in Evoker. If they are going to make a new class it needs to be something really good because their current ideas of new classes isn’t great.

That sure is a take, I’ll give you that.

New spec, there are still archetypes with the current classes that aren’t discovered yet.

I’ve seen shamans want an earthen theme tank… and I want a light RDPS spec for Priest. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m not personally looking for excuses to make more new characters.

Option 3: Racial themes for each class. NE Priests having astral/moon spell fx’s instead of Light/Shadow based ones. Tauren Paladins having Sun fx’s. etc., etc.

Neither. They should fix and maintain what that have already before they add more stuff they won’t be able to take care of.

Is there an option to just want an actual finished product instead of a bug infested mess?

Option 3, we need none of the above but rather them fixing evergreen content, proper balancing, and a good story to keep us interested without bugs

If I had to pick one, I’d go with new specs.

Specializations are almost brand new classes anyway. They get some overlap, but the play styles tend to be dramatically different. They could explore a lot more options without making all new classes if they wanted to.

neither. it only dilutes and complicates things further. I would prefer more playable races and customization that does not impact the difficulty of balancing the game so negatively

They definitely can, one of the Midnight interviews they acknowledge there’s a demand for a fourth spec.

I think there’s a certain point where we’ve got to accept that there are plenty of classes and specs as it is.

At the end of the day, if they continually add more classes and specs all it means is that more specs will get left behind when balancing and tuning come around. With the new DH spec there are going to be 40 specs and that’s basically impossible to balance as it is.

I mean, if it’s already impossible to balance, then what’s the harm?

A brazilian writer named Luis Fernando Verissimo once wrote:

“What was a little fart for someone who was already soiled?”

Yeah, can’t really recall a period where the community was happy with the state of spec balance anyway.

May as well go all out at establishing new archetypes.

Depends on the specs, depends on the class. Not over the moon with the new DH spec, because I don’t “get” the Void thing. I’d like a new DK spec, provided it didn’t go in some ridiculous directiong like “Fire DK because of… uh… Bolvar!” However, I’d also like Necromancers.

On the other hand, if Blizzard added a new Rogue spec, I’d just move on, I don’t play a Rogue. Similarly, if they introduced Tinkers or Bards, those simply aren’t for me.

People say this, but they were crying about class balance before WoW even added classes. Who cares?

Maybe specs.

Here’s what I’ve learned about Class Balance over the years:

Nothing short of perfect mathematical balance in all situations will ever be enough for the playerbase, and that’s objectively impossible, so… :upside_down_face:
