So basically any dps queuing with a healer would have around 85%+ chances of winning? Not sure about this
Correct, solo shuffle is a mistake and designing around it has already created a new plethora of problems. This new q mode wouldn’t fix anything though, it’d only make things worse.
Double dps is already pretty bad (except rogue mage -.-) into healer/dps and now complete random double dps that don’t know each other would go against healer/dps duos. Lol.
No, youvr already seen how popular rss is compared to 3s. The appeal and demmand for the mode heavuly outweighs any sense of “muh mmo multiplayer”. Those people would just quit leaving the pvp pop even lower than before
My idea was that essentially, as a dps, you can choose to que with other dps only, with healers only, or with either (and so whether you get healer or dps would be random).
As Christtel said below, RSS is extremely popular based on participation levels. There are inherent problems with it of course, but removing it would likely only result in a small initial jump in regular 3v3 participation. Within 1 season, I really believe it would be right back to where it is now participation-wise, or likely, have even less participation.
Most people that play it completely hate it and are there for easier rewards and bc they can’t find any1 to q with.
It has created a plethora of new problems plaguing other areas of the game (2s basically can’t be played w/o a healer, healers can’t die w/o dampen), it shouldn’t have been created and they should have updated Lfg instead.
As for the queue modes, hmm, double dps only queue would probably favor certain specs too much, ret included lol.
Actually think it’d be pretty cool to have a soloq version of 2s, similar format of current shuffle with only 2 rounds - so as a dps you get to try each healer. Allowed to que this while waiting in 3v3 shuffle. Could help breakup the que times.
They are apples and oranges. I never said they weren’t. I’m just saying your oranges didn’t save anything. Solo que didn’t bring people back to PvP. The reality is it’s just gonna kill PvP with its antisocial toxicity.
No, solo queue did bring people to pvp. They just dont and wont engage with 3s ever.
You can cry all you want but the fact is many saw it as an alternative to the already dying 3s mode. Mamy of my friends only queue rss and that is something 3s people cant really say, that their mode inceitivized people to try and play
It hasn’t though. There’s less people playing it than an abandoned expansion. It just took a few people out of the 3s bracket.
Oh for sure, many people see it as way easier because it is. Doesn’t mean it’s better or good for PvP in anyway whatsoever.
Solo didn’t incentivize anyone to try PvP. It just took 3s pvpers who wanted to be anti social and toxic and let them que up without putting in any work.
My few PvE friends won’t go near solo. The only time they que up is 2s or 3s with friends because playing any game is better with friends.
Man you have some cooked takes if you think it didn’t bring people in.
Longevity wise, it failed PVP hard. But as a thing, it brought far more PVEers and casual players into PVP because they could just queue up and try it out.
The bracket sucks. But denying what it did do in DF is crazy.
Anyone is an overstatement I agree. The amount though? I really don’t think it brought that many. As someone else posted the numbers… There’s not that many RSS games compared to previous 3s. It really took most of its pop out of the 3s bracket.
I legit don’t know any pvers that tried it… I admittedly don’t know that many but still, zero. I got into 3s because friends pulled me in. Solo doesn’t do that. I think the effect of RSS is vastly overstated. I think most players are from 3s/2s.
I honestly don’t think RSS in its current design did anything for PvP. If it had been slapped into the 3v3 ladder as a solo que I woulda been more on board.
I feel like you either don’t know anybody or are lying because almost every person I’ve known has semi-regularly dabbled in solo shuffle even if they didn’t touch ranked previously. It removes the whole barrier to entry with either knowing people, playing a good spec, finding people, being full gear, etc.
But then again we were also saying SL is dead so probably the latter.
Fair enough. I don’t know that many. Group of 4-5 for m+ and casual stuff. Most are playing hardcore at the moment.
It does. I don’t think the barrier of finding people is the only barrier though. Pvers don’t want to PvP. I only ever started 3s because friends who did asked me to heal them. Solo que would never have pulled me in. I barely play it now to get gear with people playing hardcore.
I honestly think shuffle mostly pulled pvpers out of 2s/3s. Maybe in DF some BG’s casuals? Now they play blitz.
