Would you cancel sub and why?

6 month sub just renewed

Can someone explain to me the mindset of why so many people are talking about quitting the game? I keep hearing people say they donā€™t agree with the current direction or they are tired of the grind, but the game feels almost identical in its experience as it had since at least Cata to me.

I always tell myself that I will quit when I feel like Iā€™m not having fun anymore, but I donā€™t know, it still feels as fun to me as ever. Iā€™m having trouble understanding the mindset and I think that people might just be burnt out or over exaggerating. Worst case, people are bandwagoning behind streamers who no life the game all day for 3 months and then complain about the grind. Maybe itā€™s because Iā€™ve never been a part of a guild and always played solo that I donā€™t understand.

What has actually changed in the game that makes people want to quit and why now?

i unsubbed for a year in BFA because i wasnā€™t having fun. no drama, no ā€œI QUIT!!!ā€ thread, i just ended my sub, uninstalled and left. itā€™s really not super complicated. i donā€™t know why people have to make it out to be this momentous, life-altering decision. itā€™s a hobby. if youā€™re not having fun, do something else.

I think a lot of people are just finally getting tired of having the devs ā€œvisionā€ being forced onto them in how to play the game. Systems on top of systems, on top of systems, on top of systems, with other systems to fix the systems that the other systems broke. In a lot of cases, itā€™s just principle as well. People look at something as simple as covenant energy and use it as the perfect example of something that makes literally zero sense in itā€™s existence except to annoy people, even if it doesnā€™t directly affect them.

I think what you said makes sense, I just feel sort of left out I guess because the devs vision seems to really work for me. I enjoy most of the systems, and if I donā€™t I feel like they are mostly optional and not engaging with them isnā€™t a big deal.

Part of me wants to feel the rage like so many others do, and maybe even find a cause to quit. But when I reflect on it, I have no reason to quit the game and none of the other games look like they would be as fun as this one. Maybe one day Iā€™ll get tired of it too, but after 16 years it doesnā€™t seem likely for me.

Iā€™d cancel my sub if after ordering, I realized I missclicked on the order page and put down a veggie supreme sub instead of my desired hot meatball sub.

Oh wait, I see now, nvm.

/moo :cow:

Ally is nothing but Humans. BOOOOOOOOORRRRRING. You are plain spaghetti. And posting on a alt account shows how plain and no flavor at all ally are.

Its pretty messed up.

I like Ion but I hate how the last 3 blizzcons when this questions comes up they basically say:

If this issue was affecting the Horde they would fix it one week.

Humans are why the Alliance is dying.
itā€™s just so frightfully dull.
Stormwind is a damn Lego:Kingdoms set ffs

Noā€¦but I wouldnā€™t play alliance on retail.

As of right now, no I will not cancel my sub. I honestly could care less about faction balance. If people want to play Horde, let them. If they want to play Alliance, so be it. That is their option and they can do what ever they want with it.

Iā€™ll probably be a lifer. Been playing this game since day one with very few breaks, but never a lapsed sub. Even when my wife passed away, I still was subscribed. I enjoy just about every minute I play the game and look forward to what Blizz has in the future.

What would cause me to cancel? When I no longer have fun playing this game.

I am a full time collector :+1:
The energy you guys put into doing M+ or raiding or rated pvp is what I put into collecting. So the only thing I can think of thatā€™d make me unsub is some kind of disruption to the collection system :man_shrugging:

Fix it by making it not matter.

Warmode can be the thing that maintains the faction conflict / World PvP for those really into that. Non Warmode gets cross-faction grouping. Faction-controlled territory is still hostile to the other faction even while grouped. Attempting to turn on Warmode prompts a warning that you will be dropped from a cross-faction group (or that opposite faction members will be dropped if youā€™re the leader).

Because, yeah, there is zero reasonable way to convince people to leave the obviously-better-for-gameplay faction. The only way that would happen is to absolutely destroy balance. An Alliance racial being 1% better wonā€™t convince anyone. The advantage of having the strong recruitment pool the Horde does is more important.

So make it not matter.

So you do care.

There is no fixing faction balance.
Thereā€™s one faction that has 20-30 groups looking to do stuff.
Thereā€™s another faction that has 2-3 groups looking to do stuff with 7-10 gold boost groups in the finder.

I just want to say that malarkey with the Subway tuna is the biggest load of bull plop Iā€™ve ever read in my life. I mean that tuna has been heat processed of course you canā€™t find any DNA. If heat didnā€™t destroy DNA weā€™d all be screwed since that would mean heat wouldnā€™t sterilize bacteria (IE destroy itā€™s DNA so it canā€™t hurt you)

No. No I donā€™t.

Then you should have said you couldnā€™t care less, otherwise it gives the wrong impression.

Potato potato.
