The skip allows you to go from the top-left of Loch Modan to Menethil Harbor much quicker and avoid most of the mobs.

It is blatently an exploit(you are short circuiting unintended paths), but there’s a lot of these kinds of things. There’s a way from redridge to swamp of sorrows, a way from badlands to burning steppes. Dying in water to get past mountains to dun morough. Personally I treat it more like an additional ingame skill that allows you to use shortcuts others don’t know about. I find it more natural version of runescape agility, where the shortcut was genuinely discovered and unintended, feeling like a real shortcut, makes the game feel more interactive/real in a weird way.
It’s a minor terrain exploit, but it is not punishable, going by blizzard’s past actions.
Generally, if you can get somewhere without hacking or using bugs then it’s not considered an exploit. I didn’t bother to watch the video because it’s well-known you can climb the cliffs in Dun Morogh without resorting to any tricks at all.
This precisely. It would be different if it used direct wall-jumping, but it does not.
Frankly, that should exist anyway and they should have finished the airstrip anyway so it doesn’t look all buggy.
I have been told (never played horde in vanilla) that there is a cave in stonetalon that leads to ashenvale. Same principal.
It was always pretty stupid to make alliance have to strip naked and run the roads from Loch Modan to Menethil and die a dozen or more times. That’s just bad design.
lmao I’m not disagreeing with you but this is the worst example.
There are literally quests that send you through the Talondeep path.
I do not disagree that it is a bad example. But it’s the best I could think of. Blizzard’s failure to implement a similar thing with loch modan / menethil harbor is not my fault, but theirs
Part of me thinks it was their intention. There is a dangerous route from Loch Modan to Menethil Harbor already put in place and it kind of separates the Night Elves from the other three Alliance races. To me it feels very similar (although slightly more dangerous) to Tauren running from Mulgore through Southern Barrens to get to Crossroads or Durotar.
Dying in water to get past mountains (You can do that to skip from darkshore to Moonglade too) is not an exploit.
sorry what i meant to say is deleting hearthstone and character unstuck while hugging the mountains barely being in that zone.
