title^ someone please explain i see people front page with a 1% higher winrate than me in 2s but im 600 below them.
If I understand it correctly, it’s not just your W/L rate but also the ranking of the people you’re winning/losing to. Basically, if you win against someone ranked much higher than you you’re going to gain more ranking than if you beat someone lower to you. Conversely, losing to someone higher than you doesn’t hurt you as much as losing to someone lower than you does.
Given that, if you’re constantly matched against high-ranked teams (for whatever reason) and manage to maintain the same W/L ratio you’ll end up ranked higher than if you were being matched against lower ranked teams.
w/l doesn’t necessarily mean much. It’s more about what teams you are winning/losing against and their mmr compared to yours. If you constantly lose against teams with lower mmr you will constantly be losing large chunks of mrr and never advance.
