Would PVP Hunter gear be good for PVE content?

Or should I carry around 2 sets with me?

Edit: oops, forgot to mention I’m an MM hunter. I’m aware of the stat differences needed in both pve and pvp but was hoping maybe if I rolled pvp gear I’d still be okay to do pve stuff like raids maybe or should I just keep my gear separate and switch out for whatever the occasion calls for?

Pvp, Survivability is pretty important, ergo heavy towards Versatility.
Pve, it’s all about the DPS, so its Crit/Mastery. (no one cares if you die, as long as it’s after your burst.)
Wear PVP gear, and get a set of crit/mastery rings, you’ll be fine.

Ehm it depends which spec you play. Mastery for BM hunter is not the right stat (sadly).

The right BM hunter combo for PVE will be crit/haste.
I just checked and you both running MM so crit/mast is the way.

Good point. apologies. MM is all I ever play.

Confused orc noises
Is that an Alliance strat ?

For the stat part, in single target with Lock and Load talented haste is very strong. But with Volley talented haste is garbage. If you really want to mix max you’ll need 2 sets of PVE gear.

If it’s 10ilvl upgrade? Probably yes

Otherwise it is stat dependant.

I don’t like carrying around 2 sets so I choose my gear by ilvl and my number 1 pve Stat + versatility. Works pretty good for both scenarios

Main stats will heavily outweigh secondary. Ilvl is very important indeed

Isnt SV hunter stat weight for secondaries Haste>Vers>everything else?

It’s more “get Haste, avoid Mastery”.

Mastery is so bad that it’s usually worth a 13 iLevel decrease on non-jewellery if it means you’re dropping Mastery, and it only gets worse the more targets you’re against.
