First off, I’m super happy and grateful that we can get ANY gilded crests from Delves. This is not a complaint to get more crests.
Currently, we can get 31 gilded crests from delves per week (3x chests with 7 crests and 10 from using a bounty on a T11). You need to do M+ or raid to get more (which is fine).
However, just for shiggles, what would happen if there was no longer a limit on gilded crest chests from T11 Delves? How much of an impact do you think that would have on M+?
Probably just shorten the season for people another week or two. If this had been the case for Season 2 I would have capped my crests the first 2 weeks spamming T11s since I was running +4-6s and maybe some 7s those first two weeks.
There def would be people that would grind the delves over m+ to cap for sure. How many? Who knows.
Reduced M+7 runs probably.
It might affect M+ at whatever level gilded starts becoming farmable there, but probably not beyond that.
People doing M+ beyond level 10, as I understand, are just doing it to push score, etc., there’s nothing in it for them after that (kinda like doing delves beyond T8 after your 3 clears for the week).
M+ and wow in general is already dead lol
Progression players would be farming them nonstop.
The 31 is more than generous, imo. Overly so.
Being able to get 31 Gilded crests a week from T11 Delves is a GIFT.
Make no mistake, this season Delves are easier than last season. The devs know this and trust me, next season they are going to be much harder, and without the Pacifist Rig Curio on top of a difficulty increase, it is going to be a LOT more difficult or impossible for some people to be doing T11 solo.
I stopped using that one because of the DC bug. It’s great but not worth the risk.
No doubt some M+ players would farm delves.
That said, I don’t think we should be able to farm delves for gilded crests. The rewards are fine as they are.
I don’t think I have ever used that curio, even on my Mage.
I would still prefer to do M+ as my main content because I don’t really find delves fun anymore and even my alts don’t need more champion gear. The crest caps are so quick to reach that it doesn’t really matter where you’re getting them from, you can cap out on crests in an hour or so no matter what.
Considering how easy delves are they shouldn’t drop gilded at all.
They’re actually doing this, supposedly, in horrific visions. Don’t quote me on this but I think you get gilded from mask 5 and above, without a hard cap on how many you can farm each week, unlike delves. You also get hero gear from both mask 4 and 5 each week, in addition to hero weapons from dropped currency.
If people thought it was easier.
Personally, I hope they don’t do this. Not that I wouldn’t mind more crests. I think Delves are in a good place right now. Plus Delves are the punching bag of some people who think Mythic+ is the ultimate game. Don’t need to give them more ammo to chase people away with their community behavior.
Not really, because you only get 2 hero pieces per week and can’t get any myth track gear from delves. People who want that would be forced to do M+.
Would permanent gilded crest drops in T11 Delves kill M+?
not for me. delves are boring and one-dimensional. I can sleepwalk through them - there’s no danger involved.

you’d still need 8 10s for mythic track
It is basically a “cheat death” ability that then lets you do damage, while being invulnerable.
The downside to pacifist is that it has been bugged and disconnects you from the server. They supposedly fixed it, but like most of their fixes lately, I’ve had it happen since “the fix”.
It might lower the people runnings 7-9s but myth gear is still a +10 and myth raiding only thing, and myth raiding really aint an option for a lot of people past the first 2 puggable ones, its also got the mounts and titles to do. Delves kinda really repetitive and grindy if youve had 11s on farm week 1 like a lot of +ers and raiders do and once your journal and cosmetic capped its got no real interest to it.
I was gonna stop doing delves all together last week since im working on mythic 10s now but then blizz added that crest quest so i did one 11.
