Now that we have things like delves and follower dungeons (and maybe story mode raids, haven’t actually looked into these at all)?
I know mission tables had a lot of their own problems, but if Blizzard could somehow implement a more evergreen system that’s not really tied to player power directly, but more for RP purposes?
It could be fun to be able to run a follow dungeon with 4 of your little soldiers than with four random NPC’s. This could also allow us to customize them to some extent, similar to how we’ve given followers certain abilities to counter missions in the past. You could swap them out as you please, both abilities and followers. You’d have a little bit of control over their playstyle. I know most people probably don’t do follower dungeons, but they could also be used as an option in Delves instead of Brann, as well as the overworld as they have previously, giving squishy classes the option for pocket tanks or giving big pumpers a pocket healer.
The missions themselves, if implemented, could primarily be used for supplementing profession material gathering or other random things on the side (that aren’t directly related to player power or story progression).
I’m sure a lot of people will outright dismiss this because previous iterations of mission tables left bad tastes in many mouths, but I think it could be fun to be able to use followers in this way and have them follow you from expansion to expansion. Ideally, this content would be entirely
optional, and if you opt out, you just continue to use the default NPC’s for all the various activities.
I miss Mission Tables, I really did enjoy them. Nice easy way for some bonus rewards.

I did too, I liked having my followers that I could deploy, I liked the RP aspect of leveling them up and having my favorites

i liked them but blizzard being boneheaded and not letting you remotely access them to send them out/collect rewards was lame. in wod/legion it wasn’t so bad because you had other reasons to go back to your garrison/order hall but in bfa and sl it was a huge drag going aaaaaalllllllll the way back to zuldazar/boralus and mounting and running back to the boat or spending 5 minutes on a flightmaster to get to your covenant sanctum
No, I don’t miss mission tables at all honestly. I would just download an addon for them that told me what to do or automated it for me and I’m glad they’re gone so I don’t have to deal with that.
Delves are way better and a lot more intuitive of a system to figure out. I feel more like I’m actually playing the game.
I think they were a success before. However, they ended up tied to end game progression through gold and items. Though honestly, I don’t even know why that was a problem since they really didn’t take up much time.
I like them as a concept, but don’t trust Blizzard to actually find that middle ground where they actually feel rewarding to do, but aren’t so much so that they become a requirement to manage
I wouldn’t want them to replace delves, I would have them as a separate system that can run in conjunction with delves if people wanted to use them that way (and wouldn’t detract from the delve experience if you didn’t want to use mission tables)
I’d love to see mt’s come back if they could simplify them more so it doesn’t make me wanna invent new curse words erytime I try to use them
