Would an Orc Warlock choose Saurfang or Sylvanas?

I’m really not sure on this one. The warlock aspect would probably appreciate Sylvanas throwing honor to the wind and winning by any means necessary. The orc aspect would be appalled at the honorless genocide of night elves and would remain loyal to Saurfang. Can anyone make a concrete case as to which leader an orc warlock would choose?

Depends on the individual. I imagine most are interested in power, and would find Sylvanas to be a good choice for that, but there are likely some who realize where she is headed and don’t particularly care to be the next raid boss.

Fel is much more likely to be tolerated under Sylvanas than Saurfang.

My Orc Warlock is going Sylvanas personally.

I mean, to be honest they would indeed likely go with Sylvanas. Logically Sylvanas has no morals holding her back and encourages her followers to be the same, and warlocks would probably be more than happy to oblige. Saurfang on the other hand follows in Thralls’ way in that warlocks are tolerable, but with limits on how far they can go.

Saurfang would heavily limit warlocks while Sylvanas would allow them to do whatever is necessary to achieve victory.

To be honest, this brings up something that really needs to be raised…

How taboo is studying Demonology now that the Burning Legion is defeated? I mean, the taboo around it was the idea of being corrupted and joining the Burning Legion. Now that the Legion is gone, is studying Demonology anywhere near as bad as it used to be? The threat from studying Fel Magic has been drastically reduced. The risk is more personal than global.

Fel Magic can still corrupt an individual. (Felborne Nightborne and Fel infused Blood Elves)

So there is still risk, tbh it wasn’t the Legion that presented the risk but rather being corrupted by the usage of Fel Magic.

As for the OP question, depends on the Warlock, there are Warlocks who take that path to use those powerful magics against their foes while also keeping some discipline to not lose themselves in it.

There are others however who do it purely for thirst of power, I’d assume the latter fits more into Sylvanas’ Horde and the first one in Saurfangs’ but to be honest Warlocks are always gonna be frowned upon so most likely Sylvanas.

As has been said, depends on the individual.

There are a number of ways they could see it.
*Some only took the the power as a fire with fire case. Their goal is defense of the world. They would likely not see Sylvanas as a good thing.
*Some took it for power for the sake of power. And are willing to risk a lot to gain it. Those would probably want to join her.
*Some took if for power for the sake of power. But, they are smart enough to see where she is headed. They may go against her simply because they don’t want to jump on the sinking ship.
*etc, etc.

Depends on the Warlock. The class isn’t a moral alignment. You can have honorable or dishonorable Warlocks. Those who do or do not agree with her rationale/methods/etc.

Powerful demons can corrupt you regardless if the legion is there or not, and fel magic is very addictive according to any mage and even the demons themself gloat about this, without mention the fel played an important role to screw Azeroth for many ages.

Probably an orc warlock won’t give a damm about the faction war and only use it to gain more political power or practicing their magic and when things turns ugly, they banish or go to the winner side

PSA: Putting Sargeras in the penalty box and destroying their re spawn reducing titan, didn’t make the armies of demons spanning the cosmos go away. The Legion is just no longer immediately a threat to destroying the universe, while they sort out who leads them now, or Archimonde respawns.

As for the thread, like said this is more of a personal choice, but on a whole Slyvanas generally aligns more with the general power hungry warlock stereotype. Keep in mind Surfang was also part of Doomhammer’s Horde that decided to purge the first Horde Warlocks.

Depends on the orc.
Obviously there’d be some that’d go for Sylvanas, but with others might see where she’s headed and choose Saurfang. Not necessarily for the sake of Honor, mind you, but for the sake of self preservation.
