Would a 60 second timer for creating character names be a win for the community?

I’ve just thought of an idea regarding character names on fresh realms.

Tomorrow, we’re going to rush into Hardcore servers, grab the first name we want, and try to grab as many other names after that for their economic value or just because we think we’ll use them for alts (but we’ll only use one or two)

Would it be an overall win for the community if a 60 second timer was started after successfully grabbing your first name?

For example, let’s say I want the name Salt. Might be pretty hard to get. If I succeed in grabbing it, maybe I want to grab a bunch of other hard to get names. Qt for example is always instantly taken.

But is it harmful to the overall community for me to nab those other names? Especially since gaining access to the server on launch is not an equal opportunity scenario?

Just something I was thinking about.

i think if you are snagging names just to snag them then blizzard should ban your account and delete your facebook.

Who doesn’t snag names just to snag them? I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t try to get names like I’ve described.

gosh
i just thought he should log in to people smacking him with a foreman’s blackjack like a peon

no one i know does this…they might try and snag the name they like to play on…but no one i know spam takes as many names as they can to horde them. You might have a problem.

You act like this is an extremely uncommon practice lol.

Once upon a time slavery was common practice…doesn’t make it right or normal.

I think you’re confused about the purpose of this post.
