Classic vanilla was a fun adventure.
Classic TBC was perfection with the revamps, new talents and awesome gear once you hit Outlands.
WOTLK, on the other hand, added too much convenience and went out of its way to please casuals.
Once weekly raids are done I find myself having nothing to do. It kind of feels like WoD, either play an alt or logoff. I’m aware that new raids will be added but i dunno, vanilla & TBC were better!

He played the other expansion too, the streamers won’t ever miss a chance to farm some viewers.

The problem is nothing is new… everyone knows what to do to min/max their characters with minimal effort.
If blizzard had release everything at once. I’m sure ICC would be on farm now… and people would complain that wrath was boring. lol
But taking their time to release content/phases is also a problem because people will rush to end game and not waste time.
The fact is nothing blizzard does will be good enough for everyone and holding on to the good old days is just that… the good old days. It can’t be replicated.

yes but the issue is vanilla and TBC hold up way better than wrath

The fact that people are so hyped for Ulduar like they were SSC is all you need to know.

Wrath was always when WoW changed for the worse, people say it was Cata, but cata was hated because the new wow players that started with Wrath were no longer having their hands held and they hated it. Cata was actually better than wrath.

And yet cata stil isn’t good.
Unless you just like clearing raids every week and that’s it
No they didnt… people still raid log.
The best part of both Vanilla and TBC was the leveling and world pvp while leveling. But, like I said… been there, done that. Nothing new to see here… move along.

That’s fine. You can play wrsth 2 hours a week and progress. Unless for some reason you need gold so you do dailys

Retail WoW began with the expansions. None of 'em are Classic. The flying, purchaseable boosting/buyable mounts, gutting of world rpg elements, and fixation on the WC Heroes over Azeroth started with TBC. Wrath simply followed in its footsteps, leading you to the Shadowlands.

Here’s the thing when it comes to solved content, people don’t want to play like they used too. Lets use classic as an example, how many people rushed to 60 to start raiding, how many raid groups where class stacking rogues, warrior, certain healers based on faction, only warrior tanks, etc, yata yata yata. It was awful. Yes there’s good moments from classic to wrath. But guess where all the bad parts are? It’s the end game, the raiding, heroic dungeons, etc.
Let’s also not forget that if anyone played outside “the meta” they were frowned on. Heck, even the pvp bracket farmers were pretty bad also for trying to rank up. The WB meta was also awful, you can’t tell me it was good, it was garbage. All the things’ players did ruined what made the game amazing. Which was player choice to play what they wanted, not what they had to play.

The most fun I’ve had in WoW was back in Vanilla. My guild and friends raided MC and BWL in pvp specs. Defending towns from gankers and forming ganking parties.
The good old days. =)

There is a raid meta with every expansion. Complaining about it is beating a dead horse
“Classic WoW” ended with TBC, IMO. (Some would argue only Vanilla is Classic WoW and it’s hard to disagree.)
Wrath is the first Retail expac.
People like to say Wrath was the peak, when it was actually the beginning of the decline. Most people joined WoW through TBC. Most people left after Wrath.
Paraphrasing Ghostcrawler, he was amazed that players valued EFFICIENCY over everything else during Wrath:
Efficiency.
Well, WoD was efficient. But efficiency is boring and meaningless.
So you get everything done extremely fast by yourself and everyone basks in your incredible epeen glory. You are “The Champion.” GG you’re a good American, I guess.
Why order from my favorite restaurant that has an amazing atmosphere and vibe but take it to my car and eat it alone by myself as fast as possible?
That’s what modern (Classic and Retail) players love to do now, using GDKP PUGs and RMTs. Their mantra is:
EFFICIENCY UBER ALLES

We did it and had so much damn fun. I really, really… really hate the meta mentality of today.
