WOTLK - I'll give it another shot. I hope I'm wrong

i do remember when i got Zin’Rokh, Destroyer of Worlds, people would literally run from me when i resd at the GY in wsg! lol. the game was a lot better back then and i miss it a lot. i wish theyd make a classic server”

I’m an OG vanilla player boomer. There I said it. I came from Everquest and Dungeons and Dragons and WoW was a natural fit for me. Orcs, goblins, dragons, swords and sorcery! Let’s go!

I quit a couple months into original TBC because I wasn’t into the daily quest thing and didn’t care for space ships and goats.

I resubbed for wrath and only made it about a month before quitting again. I leveled 2 toons to 80 but it was so boring. With the new talents and revamped gear in the old world, mobs just tickled and it seemed everything died in seconds. I missed vanilla where landing at tarren mill at lvl 20 you had to watch out for the level 24-26 starving mountain lions outside of town. Leveling in wrath I was just running around donking everything. It wasn’t mentally engaging anymore.

One thing I noticed also was the world just seemed… dead? I knew there were people on the server and my friends played there too. But everyone just AFKd and queued for things in town.

My first WOTLK dungeon was a big castle with giants and drakes if I remember right. The moment we got in the dungeon the tank just ran off with the healer and I saw him pull the entire room. I thought for sure we was doomed and I had my finger over the hearthstone button… But nope apparently that’s just how WOTLK dungeons were done. Just mash buttons mindlessly and get your lootbag. No mental stimulation at all, just people constantly linking DPS meters in group chat.

I also didn’t like how fruity the mounts got with people riding ridiculous stuff. I know the population peaked in WOTLK, but it was all downhill from there.

I’ll go WOTLK with you guys and see if I’m misremembering. Otherwise I’m gonna have to wait for the next vanilla.

Sounds like this game is not for you, and thats okay. There are other games that cater to what you are looking for.

:slightly_smiling_face:

There will be no Dungeon finder sadly. :slightly_frowning_face:

My question is after they close down servers for classic are you still going to be able to start a fresh character on the classic vanilla servers that stay?

Well maybe this time around you will enjoy it more…
But yes you described it perfectly compared to classic vanilla

Yes. The servers arent going away, only the unclaimed clones.
