WOTLK heroic dungeons were way too easy

Cant wait to see how much more rediculous it gets because tbc wasnt as popular on the pserver scene so it wasn’t as meta’ed or datamined.

But wrath had a much larger and dedicated crowd. Meta will be different ofc as blizzard classic tends towards the speedrun and a lot of pservers tend to be buffed and focus more on efficiencies on killing bosses

I feel like people memories of the easy heroics in wotlk are based off the end of the expansion when everyone was geared and steam rolling. There will still be some difficulty at the early phases

Yes.

No…they were extremely easy at launch.

Coming from tbc where we had…heroic OHB, Blood Furnace, where even in t6 you might need to do some cc, or kiting strategies…even on classic heroic blood furnace can kill a full t6 tank if youre not paying attention during that gauntlet.

To the scariest heroic at wrath launch was heroic halls of reflection on the last boss if you didnt run out would almost one shot you.

Yeah, real scary

Halls of reflection isn’t a launch heroic. It wont be in untill ICC is out.

pre nerfed Uld is harder than the sunwell.

WoW is a casual’s MMO. No matter what nostalgia may make you want to believe. It’s always been casual. TBC and Vanilla actually had less mechanics than WotLK and onward for most dungeons/raids.

I’ve always wondered why some people who claim to be 1337 worry so much about people who aren’t as good at the game as they claim to be.

Because we have to sometimes interact with these people on rare occasions, and I dont like my time wasted on people who clearly dont care.

Not if you’re actually 1337.

Timewalking scales weirdly.

Wrath heroics were much easier than TBC heroics. It was possible to die or wipe or whatever, but it was much easier than TBC.

This is absolutely true as well.

nah they were face roll ez

I was tanking the daily in 25 man naxx gear for guildies

…as ret.

Put on righteous fury trust my geared healers and bros…boom heroic done in 20 mins if its one of the smaller ones.

Yeah, I did the TBC timewalking a few weeks back and it was fine.

I wanted to get some easy gear on my alts for WOTLK timewalking last week and just bailed. They are way overtuned.

One of the main reasons wrath dungeons seemed easier than vanilla/tbc is that all classes/specs have complete kits. All tanks have great AOE threat. All healers are pretty fantastic. And each dps spec bring valuable things to the group.

TBC dungeons and heroics are pretty easy if you bring specific comps. Try taking a rogue, ret paladin, and shadow priest into shattered halls with no cc to speak of. The difficulty goes up drastically compared to a couple mages and a hunter. Those types of comp based factors are minimized in wrath.

All DPS bring some decent cleave damage which allows much more efficient trash clears in wrath. I think they did a great job bringing all classes and specs into alignment in wrath. I’m not sure they realized just how powerful those changes would be when combined, even in 5 man groups, so they weren’t able to tune the content as well.

Heroics are not supposed be stupidity difficult. In crusade, some are harder than the raids that are supposed to come after them. A heroic comes between regular dungeons and raids. This is where its difficulty should be.

“In tbc heroics weren’t meant to be done prior to karazhan. Karazhan was the entry level gearing method, then heroics, then gruul and mag”
-Totally wrong because the gear from original heroics (not terrace) are all worse than karazhan. If heroics are supposed to come after karazhan, then the boss drops should reflect that. But it doesn’t.

Tbc heroics arent stupidly difficult either. I did them all in blue dungeon sets on beta.

When you design your game for the lowest common denominator, that will happen

Yeah…100% incorrect

Heroic gear was ilvl 112, and Kara gear was ilvl115 (not that it mattered much back then since gear didnt work that way). Heroic gear was mostly blue, and Kara gear was epic, and had t4 sets.

t4 sets were acquired across…wait for it…all 3 raid zones. Kara was considered one of these raid zones
