So, we had a fresh 80 guildmate join their EoE 10m as a pug, keep in mind he is completely new to his class and expansion; After boss dies the BiS caster staff dropped and he won the roll for it. The raid leader (Zohwey) saw no issue with ninja’ing the gear from him on the basis (he didn’t pull enough dps and died to vortex). Now, if you’re going to invite pugs without gear checking then dps should not matter; even more-so the healers couldnt keep him alive through a nonavoidable mechanic, which lowered his dps even more. IF YOU’RE GOING TO ACCEPT PUGS AND NOT GEAR CHECK, DON’T NINJA LOOT FROM A WINNING ROLL ON THE BASIS OF ‘he didn’t do enough dps’. It is unfair to the player because he isnt able to get better gear to increase his damage, also spitting in his face after he got excited and happy he won the roll to then be shot down from his high. Do not trust these people because they don’t care about anyone but themselves, they only want to fill their empty raid slot and funnel loot to their guild without giving the pug a fair chance at winning anything.
While I understand the principle of this lets be honest and up front. Anytime you join a group with Loot Master on you are agreeing to the Loot Masters decisions. I suggest finding groups of group loot or established rules before hand. At the end of the day. Its 2nd week loot is gonna be there.
Sure. But toxic guild behavior should be publicly documented. Regardless of what the player “should’ve expected”, the etiquette falls squarely against the guild and the LM. Lack of options for recourse doesn’t mean that they weren’t wrong.
They don’t get a pass. “didn’t do well enough” is not grounds for loot denial especially if not stated prior to raid. The default understanding is that all loot eligible for a player’s class and spec is also eligible to be rolled on.
