What is the anticipated time frame Fresh WOTLK server would have to hit 70, gear and do professions to prepare for WOTLK release?
Is it possible to have prepatch WOTLK fresh server release 2 weeks PRIOR to pre-patch going live so people at least have a chance to level to catch up?

Well you’re going to have a 50% xp bonus from all sources for several weeks on top of a reduction in xp from an already reduced xp to level from 1-60 and a reduction in xp to level from 60-70.
There’s another reduction in price of mounts and riding skills though I believe they still come at level 30.
I could see wanting to grind out professions but there’s no real reason to grind out gear since unless you’re doing Sunwell, a majority of your gear will be replaced in the first zone you quest in in Northrend.

You’re in for a HUGE surprise then. Fresh servers are going to the most expensive servers out there. People are going to race to 70 to corner markets and raise prices. Especially with the XP boost. Just look at SoM. Consumables are 50g+ for stuff that normally went for 8-12g in classic.

I don’t think a lot of sweat lords will be going to WOTLK Fresh, but perhaps they will to avoid queues. I’m sure the people on Firemaw will enjoy them queues to get in :P. Mega servers sound fun until you have to login 8 hours before you intend to actually play in hopes not to be DC’ed.
Doubt it, though 3-4 week prepatch with 50% xp is plenty of time to level.
You’re underestimating how many people want to play on the fresh servers. They’re going to become “mega servers” of their own because a big chunk of returning players and people seeking an authentic classic experience with an economy that hasn’t been inflated with billions of bot gold are going to want to play on the fresh servers. Don’t let us stop you from enjoying pay to win GDKP runs though.
I think that fresh servers are a great idea. The Classic Andys all hate them because they’re not a GDKP mega server, but I hope they’ll be popular for that exact reason. I personally want a realm with like minded people who also want a fresh realm. Can’t wait for prepatch so I can play, as there’s no incentive too right now.

On the contrary, thats exactly why they will die.
The large majority of people will fall behind, look at those who pulled ahead with the same hyperbolic, envious eyes they look at those holding “billions” of gold on mega servers, and start yearning for a “fresh” experience that means “I WANNA BE THE ONE ON TOP, DONT YOU DARE PASS ME!!!”. Since neither server will be that, they’ll go to where it’d be easier to group up, replace recruits, raid log, etc.

The earlier they release wrath fresh the more chance it dies before wrath is even released.
nah i mean maybe ill quit eventually. but ill not be going back to a mega server. being on benediction as my last server i played on, it felt just as dead when it came to trying to run anything, that wasnt a forsaken GDKP. so have your mega server, ill find a home on a fresh server. if it fails, ill drop my sub and maybe give dragonflight a try down the road.
Fresh Wrath will be huge, I just hope the established servers don’t die… if it happens they will beg for transfer on Fresh, which would be pretty bad.
