WOTLK Dungeons need to make it into the mythic+ rotation

With the way dungeons were designed in Wrath, I honestly think most of them would fit into the mythic+ space without tremendous changes to their layout/size. Also, there is some real potential there for interesting encounters with dungeons like Culling of stratholme, Azjol Nerub, Drak’Tharon Keep/Gundrak and Halls of Reflection just to name the more interesting ones.

Blizzard probably won’t do it. The entire dungeon mechs need total modifications since they’re far too simple for today’s standards.

But WOTLK dungeons were truly GOATED. I wish they would.

They’ve already completely reworked dungeons for m+

Didn’t people end up hating Throne of the Tides after it got reworked for M+ last season? I have to imagine it’d go the same way for any other older-than-mythic-difficulty dungeons that get the same treatment.

There would have to be significant mechanic re-works to make it relevant. Pre-Cata dungeons were absolutely braindead from a mechanic perspective.

I, for one, would be ok if they tried bringing some of them back with fresh new mechanics. It gives a modern spin on a dated dungeon.

Vortex pinnacle was awesome

Not a fan personally of wotlk dungeons outside of the ICC ones. Personally Pit of Saron is probably the only one I would consider but Forge of Souls or ToC could be interesting.

Wow i also loved VP but i think its important to remember it was THE hated dungeon of season 2 (maybe nelth on fort was more despised idk xd)

Everyone hated the DF dungeons, not the old ones. DF dungeons are not very well liked honestly

Unless I’m misremembering it, didn’t they say anything older than Cata were too simple for M+ and would require massive reworks?

Not saying they’d never do it, but it seems unlikely.

I’m just waiting on a full BRD key. 24 bosses (or whatever the full count is), 4 hour timer. The challenge will be not falling asleep, no need for real mechanics…

I hear that. I’m not usually one for dungeons, but I’d totally be down for a M+ Sunken Temple or Stratholme (both sides).

All 3 Dire Maul wings. Both sides of Maraudon. There were some pretty epic dungeons back in vanilla. But I can definitely understand how they would need to be basically completely rebuilt from scratch to make them viable for M+. I have no fond memories of any M+ dungeon where the timer starts with a 4. I cannot imagine what kind of timer they’d have to put on a full Sunken Temple to make it an adequate challenge; but that number would be large.

i love this idea of using more older dungeons into the rotation. Going back to them brings a cool freshness to the dungeon rotation and makes things interesting. Not having seen throne of the tides in a LONG time, kept me on my toes for sure!

Would absolutely be interested in older and older dungeons being used…HOWEVER, the tuning for some of them would be a nightmare.
