There is no “right”. There is simply my consumer right to pay/play or not, and that right has been perfectly preserved.
Thus far I have voluntarily exercised that right of my own will, with no influence by Blizzard, just as you likely have, so as far as I can tell, there is no foul play at hand here.
I’m not avoiding the question you’re just not hearing the answer. Gameplay features like LFD are not content, and similar to balance features the reason to have them in from the start of the expansion is that that then end of expansion was the optimal state the expansion was in.
You think I have the energy to give full well-thought replies to all 20-something screechers in this excellent discussion thread who have a bone to pick with the people who don’t want RDF and want to take it out on me?
If you must, read any of my replies as spiritual responses to your posts, cherry pick the relevant parts if you must, it’s not like you’re presenting anything unique other than “you’re wrong” which is yawn.
Removing RDF is a rough take for a lot of people, clearly through your exhaustive posting on the matter we get that you’re fine with the change.
None of us waiting for it expected it, even with “#somechanges” this very much is a rug being pulled out from under a lot of players. some will still play, depending on my social circle i may continue on. I will hazard a guess that between removing RDF and not keeping TBC Era servers, participation in LK will probably go down or taper off faster then either classic version prior.
I’ve heard from a large portion of people that they do not ever recall being polled on RDF and if it’s true that Blizzard didn’t take the time to research their playerbase on where RDF lands, I would consider that a mistake, personally.
However, I have to believe they came to this decision for some kind of reason, and the reason they’ve presented just so happens to resonate with me greatly, so I can’t help but give them passive validation for their choice, I assume when there’s smoke there’s fire (there’s more than just me).
So we’re screechers because we disagree with you? If anything, the anti-RDFers are the ones screeching as loud as they can. None of your responses hold water. As stated, you give examples that are flawed or irrelevant to the RDF situation.
Imagine arguing that making groups without RDF is impossible while at the same time saying that if we don’t like RDF we can just go make a group without it in the same sentence, paragraph, or thought process.
They don’t want to build it from the ground up and they knew people like you would be here to keep mindless threads like this open to defend them with anything and everything you could throw at it as reasoning they made the right choice.
The hard part for me to believe that they even sent out a poll to players is that nobody has come forward from the player base saying they took part in it. now if they have ill concede the point that it did happen, I just didn’t see it. In my mind if there was a survey sent out about the inclusion of RDF its either in the emails of inactive accounts or just didn’t happen.
The issue a lot of people have is the “some kind of reason”. would people be less mad if we were given a reason? probably not but some people like myself would at least have the explanation of why to help soften the blow. saying “it doesn’t fit what classic players want” or “the spirit of classic” are throw always until they provide proof of a survey or a reason why this design fits new LK over original. I don’t feel i am owed a reason, but it would have been nice to get one.
Also Ion telling players to go to classic is an actual poopbird statement he should not have made.
