im not even 80 yet on classic because im lazy but I dont remember if demo was a competitive spec then or not? I know I played a lot of destro but did demo have a place in wotlk in terms of pvp/arena?
Demo is good in pve not so much in pvp. Your demonic pact spell power buff is very strong in raids.

Every sweaty guild will have one Demo lock they funnel gear to. The DPS on demo is strong enough at the baseline, and wrath so full of melee, you wont have trouble getting into raids even if you dont go for a spot in a sweat guild.
