It was how I MET people. It is thanks to LFD that I made WoW Friends back then.
Maybe you’d rather your LFG Chat to find dungeons but… Not me.

Exactly this, a very strong point. Putting in RDF does not affect people who do not want the system. But not putting in RDF forces everyone to play a certain way that is not worthwhile to everyone. There is a lot of people who can only play for a couple hours a day, if they are lucky. Putting in RDF has no adverse effect on people who want to form dungeons the old school way. Removing it only demoralizes players who are EXPECTING this system to be implemented, and not only that. Downright makes the game unplayable for them.

Everyone I’ve spoken to is disappointed that blizzard is refusing to add a group finder. It could be kept to the server and have no impact other than to streamline what people are already doing with bulletin. Except for seriously speeding things up.
I am sure that blizzard are listening to people about this issue, but as always, not everyone; just the select elite few that want exactly what Blizzard wants.

Aren’t they supposedly improving the party finder tool?
FF has LFG/LFR and it’s done nothing to impact their social environment. Peeps here are just scapegoating LFG/LFR.

LFG from retail is the superior group finding tool and should be added to all classic servers.

I have barely anytime to play the game with a job a wife and other things… taking RDF away from WOTLK would make the experience terrible for casuals like myself.

No random dungeon finder is totally period appropriate for wotlk. One of the best experiences in wow is spamming trade chat between the anal and the thunderfuries trying to find a tank for a dungeon. Depriving players of that experience of spamming the same macro of LF1M UTGARDE KEEP TANK is to deprive players of the true wotlk experience.
Think, if they added a dungeon finder that allowed people to advertise a group, and allowed players to apply to said group with some basic information about their character that might get in the way of someone giving up on running a dg and instead talking about their favorite political figure, or talking about how great jurassic park is. If you added a dungeon finder you’d remove such wholesome things like that, killing server identity. The very lifeblood of an mmo is making sure people are talking about 1940s germany in a nostalgic sense in a chat that is made for the purpose of trade transactions or dungeon finding. Anyone who argues for dungeon finder argues against spirited political debate in trade chat.

I for one will be playing no matter what… I wanna do Ulduar and ICC, PVP. While I hate the concept of spamming in chat for random heorics… I’ll deal with it and hopefully be in a guild for it. Also even more hopefully LFG will be added ASAP because yea, they listened to fools and decided not to add it right away, a bad decision.
Still look forward to WOTLK one way or another.
Why would LFD be Wrath Classic at any point other than patch 3.3…when it was added

I totally agree my friend, I am very upset about this and am considering not playing at all because of it.
The benefits of having RDF far out way any bad aspects of having it.
For instance when all my friends are offline I am forced to spam chat to find random players to run dungeons which I am not comfortable with ( I Have Anxieties ), I don’t care about the social aspect, grouping randomly through chat and finding players via RDF offers no difference in social experiences, you can say high just as easy with RDF and would argue you get to meet more variety of people VIA RDF, all not having RDF does is make the game worse.
I am very disappointed that some of the best experiences I had in the original WoTLK whilst using RDF won’t be available to me in classic, already classic will not be as fun for me.

LFG has become worse than Barrens chat ever thought of being. The toxic sludge people are spewing in it is sickening. Yet we’re forced into it if we want to run any form of instanced content. If this is the “socializing” Blizzard wants I’ll pass.

they told me last night when i was playing classic it’s for social aspects lol. then i told them so it’s being social when this same person i seen in chat just repeat themselves for 20 mins for a tank exact same words 20 minutes straight. i was like so when someone comes over and visits for 20 mins and just repeats the exact same thing over and over thats a great social interaction? they are already changing wrath they got boosts and everything else and the streamer nerds are already saying they are changing the ulduar raid so why not have it it’s not like you are going to be playing the original wrath in the first place.

I’m enjoying myself in WOTLK CLassic, but I refuse to spam chat for groups. This is the year 2022, not 2004. I got better things to do with my time. I recommend joining a guild and coordinating your activities on discord. It’s SO much more efficient that way.

I think that is what they will end up doing. Right now people want it just for
the ease of mindless leveling. But when players are no longer doing any
content that isnt current level cap stuff. Anything prior to that is going to
be a forgotten ghost town. Players on smaller servers and factions are
going to have it even worse.
Never mind players wanting it for leveling. They wont be able to even
do any of the quests that see you enter a instance. At least not without
having a level capped friend there to kill eveything for them.
So, while i agree it does not need to be there to be used for mindless leveling.
When things start to slow down, and very few are doing anyhting below
level cap. It will be needed so players can continue to find groups for
lower level dungeons and the quests that are inside them.

Dunno how it will affect the game, I refuse to play it after Blizzard force moved my toons onto another server and flagged ALL 27 for name changes.
