I feel WoW as a whole is dead. plz join all servers together/cross realm. Even cross faction would be great!~
go back to retail
Cross-realm play is what killed the community.
And don’t talk about Battlegrounds, PVP players are all toxic already /s ![]()
0/10 bad troll
Better not upset the 40yr dad gamers who want to gatekeep this game as much as possible, classic community about as toxic as it gets… And people wonder why WoW community is dying with responses like this. ![]()
One super massive mega server with layers, but each layer is named. When you use the AH it only connects you to your layer’s AH. Trading with people outside your layer is forbidden outside of dungeons in which shared loot is available.
For the most part, it keeps all the layers together and it keeps you on that layer. You’d never really notice you’re on a layered realm, it would just feel like this realm or that realm. You’d see the same people each day, etc etc. However if a certain layer begins dying, or is very very low population during prime time (dynamic thresholds based on time of day, since early morning should be less populated), your layer loosens a small bit and allows you to jump to a more populated layer.
As soon as your layer repopulates with your people, it pulls you back to it (it will wait for you to finish your current group)
You can have duplicate names on the mega server, but not on individual layers. You can transfer to a different layer assignment for free, but the cooldown is significant and very often the destination of transfer is disallowed (like to Faerlina is off limits)
On the character creation screen, the realms are listed exactly as they always are, but instead of connecting to a realm or creating on that realm, you’re connecting to these rigid layers.
The central idea is to blur the border between ‘servers’ (layers acting as pseudo-servers), but still make it exceptionally hard to intentionally play with other people on those ‘servers’
For all intents, they’re separate servers, but when you need them to mesh for a fluid population, they will. Don’t expect the gates between layers to open often, the restrictions for this event are strict.
I don’t condone cross realm at all, but if this were a poison we’d have to drink, this is how I would want it. I also see this as one of the only solutions to the mega server problem currently being suffered on Benediction, Faerlina, and Firemaw.
Anyway that’s a hard no for cross realm.
Go back to Classic Era? Like, telling people to go back to retail is the stupidest thing you can say in this regard.
So, someone asking for cross-realm automatically makes that person a troll?
Wrong.
It’s what kept the game popular for over a decade. The community has always been trash. There was never a moment that it became that way. But there was a moment you became aware of it and started to falsely attribute a cause.
The community was a fair bit better back in the original days, but it wasn’t sustainable and it’s not unique to WoW’s community either.
Leave RP Grobb out of it.
It’s been bad enough dealing with two layers, cannot even imagine also filling the world with Bene people who largely don’t RP at all and would suddenly be 75% of the zone.
No.
Just put Grobb as the only PvP server.
Benelina/Faerediction will be the PvE server lmao.
I agree to keep cross realm like it was. Cross faction for wrath, no
I hate crossrealm so much
Didnt know 300,000 players was dead or dieing when newer mmos can barely hit 1 million lol i mean look at the 15000 people playing new world still
No it was a cheap solution so blizzard wouldnt have to merge servers. cross realm sucks bc the server lag on retail is rediculous. Barely have 40 people on the screen in retail before thr server starts stroking out.
Absolutely not… Join a more populated server.
This is why I love TBC! You actually know players from your realm! Please don’t make it cross realm lol
Cross realm would kill WoW for me 100%.
Untrue.
Bloodsail buccaneers is the friendliest, most welcoming realm I’ve played on in my near two decades of gaming in World of Warcraft.
