Hi all, I’m hearing that there are a ton of issues with hunter, one mainly being the bugs with traps. I’m wanting an answer from the mouth of someone that doesn’t backpedal and click as a hunter, an above average hunter player.
Are traps really that impossible to set off when you’re in melee range of someone? What if you don’t use the macro that everyone is complaining about? I want to level my hunter, but it’s kind of scary to not have traps.
Even if the trap combo was working as it did in true Vanilla, Hunter is a high skill ceiling class, possibly the highest in the game, very low margin for error, you don’t get free bailouts like most classes (Rogue, Warlock, Mage, etc.) who can just blow big cooldowns to make up for their misplays.
So yeah go Hunter if you want to play a skilled class. Go Warlock or Rogue if you just want easymode, there’s a reason you see dozens of them while walking through every zone in Classic.
So, ive fought agaisnt several hunters. The feign death into ice trap 100% works. Every time one attempted it worked, however thanks to spell batching I’ve managed to gouge them after they did the combo, there is still wonkyness.
Hunter’s are good but u have to be skilled. I was chasing a lvl 31 hunter on my mount. He managed to kite me while I was on a mount. If u can master not getting dazzed in cheeta and jump shooting then ur set.
Personally I hate fighting against them unless I have all my CD’s up and get the opener.
This is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thank you! I’ve got hunter down pretty well, but the feign death into ice trap issues people have been complaining about have been making me nervous about actually leveling him.
It doesn’t work 100%, it’s nothing like how it was in real vanilla. Just because it isn’t failing all the time does not mean it isn’t the same. People who played hunters in 2004-2006 the first time around are all noticing how different it functions in Classic.
But yeah a hunter kiting a rogue is common. That fight has always been a hunter win if the rogue is popped out of stealth early, it’s almost always been a rogue win if the rogue gets the opener and has two brain cells since you can perma stunlock anyone in the game. If any rogue in the 1v1 at level 60 loses to a hunter after getting the opener…they’re extremely awful.
How about u post on your hunter so we can see how much experience you have. Getting rly tired of seeing these posts where people just regurgitate junk info.
I’ve got a level 17 hunter they are so brainlessly easy to level. U can just afk auto everything. You also get cheeta which is one of the most useful leveling tools in the game. Hunters are so easy to play u can run away from everything and chase down everyone in the game except druids. Warlocks are so slow and so easy to kill in the world.
When you level as a rouge all people have to do is dot, bleed, fairyfire you, hunter marks. You die if sprint is on CD. This idea that something is wrong with hunters is so dramatically blown out of proportion. They are easy mode and also have alot of skill growth. Lets hear from actual hunters.
Rogues only have it easy for killing low levels that die before they can respond unless you have every CD up. So hard for me to kill people if I don’t have sprint cause everyone can just cc me and run away.
When you level as a Hunter, all people have to do is get into melee range with you. Cause FD has a pretty high failure rate.
I also don’t want to hear about how, “easy” Hunter is to level when you’re a Rogue - on a PvP server, you can literally stealth and hide. Too often I get ganked by a Rogue because they can stealth so I can’t be wary about them.
You shouldn’t try to call people out about not knowing what they’re talking about when all you’ve done is level a hunter to level 17, which is equivalent to having zero experience at all.
Call people out got some response from actual hunters that know what they are talking about, remind me again why I should call people out on low lvl toons. All getting a hunter to level 17 is equilvalent to have 17 levels of experance. Math says 17 doesn’t = 0.
6 hunters I’ve fought against all got the FD combo to work on. I’m sure the only ones complaining about the failure rate are simply just bad players who don’t have the skill to do it correctly. Has nothing to do with bugs it only has a high failure rate if ur a bad player.
Also how can any hunter complain when they get to have cheeta. Most of us have to suffer 1-40 walking slowly every where is a major pain.
Also NE hunters have stealth and have the potential to open and hide like rogues, u get the best of both worlds.
Point is not only are hunters easy to play and level they also have high potential espcially NE hunters, hunters deserve no sympathy.
