Worst State WoW PvP has ever been in?

What do you guys think, is this the worst its been?

Iv been PvPing since TBC and I personally feel this is the worst.

There is no real stratagy or planning anymore in pvp, its just who gets the first attack off. Even the 30% stam buff isnt changing anything. Blizz could add more stam to everyone but what about world pvp when the buff isnt there. The other option would be to nerf everyones damage but thats gonna hurt PvE. They could add a flat damage reduction in PvP but we saw how the community didnt like having different numbers.

TBH PvP as a whole is screwed right now and as we move to further phases its only going to get worse. 200% stam buff at 60? Its getting ridiculous at that point.

A lot of people wont want to hear this but as far as I can see the only way to save PvP in SoD is to have separate pvp and pve scaling modifiers. Yes your numbers will be smaller but it would be far easier to balance PvP this way compared to the current path we are on.

The amount of YoYo balancing the devs are doing between phases is staggering.

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I think most of the bickering is done when X class gets a solid crit or they just got rolled by a roving band ganking people.

I’d say there’s potential for some solid fighting, but to be fair, if people shut up for two seconds about dooming against X class, and provide a more cohesive discourse with addressing issues, then Blizz might not knee jerk react.

Druids nerf is an example of this. Yes, Starsurge was pretty powerful, but now they have to figure out how to adjust that which they increase Starfires damage by 80% after you use Starsurge.

What happens when Starfire crits for 1300 on someone? Will players whine and moan about that? People are why this is more of a yoyo situation. I don’t care if each job has an essential RNG nuke. Let’em have it and have fun.

Agreed. I play Disc and even as one of the strongest healers it’s hard to express how miserable healing BGs are right now. The increased health pools with removal of dmg reduction is just salt on the wound and makes sure i can never top anyone off without going through all my mana. Most classes DPS are higher than my HPS while free casting. There is no reason to CC me or kill me because i can’t save anyone. Blizzard gave healers bandaids to treat an intensive care unit this phase.

The +30% HP in the Blood Moon event is [probably] a good start.
The same thing needs to be added to AB/WSG.

Trying to find some ‘happy medium’ in PVE and World PVP is just not going to happen.
Could probably nerf all the damage ranges/modifiers for runes specifically by 50%, but still going to be a headache to balance – so expect nothing to happen there.

A damage-reduction buff that only applies to PVP damage could be done, but the challenge is a proper implementation.

Imagine a buff that you could get by speaking with a Warmaster that last 3 hours and persists through death. All PVP damage is reduced by 20%.

  • does this buff apply in BGs? or is it just for World PVP?
  • will players want to return to a capital city every 3 hours to refresh this buff? Probably not, but players congregate in cities for boons, so it’s not a completely foreign concept to the SoD playerbase.

Yep and it will only get worse as damage goes up even higher. Resilience needs to be added to save pvp or else it will be a shatshow. There is way too much damage and crits are hitting for almost your whole health pool.

If it’s so bad go play retail

Yes. this is the worst state PvP has ever been in for 20 years of world of warcraft. Not even close.

SoD was a cute idea because we all wanted classic+ but I thought that meant new quests, new dungeons, new maps for BG’s, new raids, new zones.

But the devs just decided to jam a bunch of retail abilities in the game instead and also make them 500x stronger than any of the classic abilities for some reason.

Like why does the runes have to be so OP? Nothing costs mana, Everything nukes. Like can you at least put it in line with the rest of the classic abilities? wtf is this kindergarden dev mentality

The only thing I have a problem with is Void Plague ticking for 170+ and SW:D. Otherwise the game feels pretty decent.

orrrr…instead of just copying and pasting retail abilities into classic they actually tweaked and tuned and created their own abilities /talent trees/content

What you get when devs are PVE players. PVE gear way better than PVP as you would expect. They even said they aren’t going to let players get rank 14 till AQ. Devs need to get a grip and some thicker skin. Mindlessly killing scripted, predictable raids shouldn’t make you a PVP god.

I did a AB a couple of days ago and between Balance druid, Spriest and rogues and melee hunters … the game is just boring. Just getting one shotted or just completely over powered by share damage\CC\Utility. Some specs just have so much more utility\cc\burst\damage than others its super unbalanced atm.

Good thing retail is here because phase 2 is even more unbalanced than phase 1.

Why do people expect Blizzard to balance a pvt server spinoff? It wasn’t supposed to be balanced in first place…

They could remove the runes and overtuned items - that would also fix pvp instantly and improve the overall experience.

SoD is kooky gameplay for the sake of kooky gameplay. You expected any semblance of balance? I’ve got some beachfront property in Wyoming you maybe interested in
