Worst Quest In The Game?

This isn’t that vanilla southshore murloc head collect quest.

You don’t know true suffering.

Catching the ball from the otters. I expletive hate that one.

I have a RP reason for this…
while killing the plainstriders you destroy their beaks with your strikes!

It reminds me of the catch the torches mini-game from that one seasonal event.

After leveling a death knight through Northrend this week, I can pretty comfortably say that Ace’s High is still the worst quest in the game.

Oh it was present in BFA and SL too. Scaring orphans back to the orphanage. Scaring slimes to the slime that eats them.

I hate HATE the faux vehicle “pretend you’re a naga and relive this important part of naga history” quests in Vash’jir.

Vehicle quest in general are not high on my list. They tend to be buggy and annoying to me.

I don’t like any quest that puts me in a vehicle, turret, or npc body with some random buttons

I especially don’t like them when the vehicle is big and blocks the near view.

Just depends on the area and level.

Vanilla content (retail) - Feralas escort quest, where you have to go half the zone and fight off packs of dinosaurs. They hurt depending on your class.

Outlands - Khadgar’s introduction tour in Shattrath. It’s not difficult, but it just takes a long time.

Northrend - Protect quest in Dragonblight (Bronze Dragonflight area). It’s a dps check, and you can’t heal the totem/object.

Pandaria - Fanny’s quest in Valley of the Four Winds, takes a lot of guess work and it’s bugged at the moment.

Draenor - Everything

Legion - Bonus Objective in Stormheim (dragonling area). It takes foreverrrrrr.

Kul’Tiras/Zandalar - Everything except Drustvar.

Shadowlands - Any quest pertaining to the Maw

Dragonflight - Any quest pertaining to the Bronze Dragonflight area in Thaldrazus.

The one in Hyjal where you have to click the little critters running around is supremely annoying.

There used to be one in Red Ridge. I don’t think it’s there anymore. Go collect X number of Red dragon whelpling wings. X number of spider whatever, and x number of something else.

Pack a freaking lunch (because this was way before door dash) because you’ll be there all day LOOKING for the whelplings, nevermind actually getting the stupid wings.

"Screw this, I’m deleting this stupid quest! No, no, you know as soon as you do you’re going to loot a wing. Then you’ll only need two more. Fine. Fine. "

/autorun
/search for whelplings.

Sometimes this game reminds me of a mean aunt.

I absolutely despise this quest, it perfectly captures this shift in tone that started really happening in cata

The game used to be a little self-aware, a little tongue in cheek. That was great, this humor goes back into the RTS titles. This quest is not tongue in cheek, it’s an entirely self-aware and self-referential 4th wall breaking waste of time. Bad meta humor done poorly and laid on way too strong, it lacks any degree of subtlety or taste. Absolute mcu tier writing

I think you’re reading way too much in the one of the most simplest quests in the game. It’s basically just a quest that let’s you be a quest giver for 45 seconds, I think it’s funny.

I hate vehicle quests, especially those where you have to shoot at things.

Read that as “rear view” :smirk:

the low mob respawn with even lower drop rate one about Snickerfang Jowls

also those Legion dungeon quests that targeted side bosses that no one else in the group finder wanted to run

One quest in particular that sticks out is that “escort the blood elf scout” in Ghostlands. I remember getting so pissed off as a kid that she would barely help back in BC, not to mention the trolls back then hurt like hell and you had to stop every mob to eat/mana up and she would keep pulling.
Follow up would be the old voidwalker quest for blood elves because I tried to yolo it wayyyy too much.

I never was a fan of fetch quest which was partly the reason I stayed away from WoW before but, since I’ve adjusted my outlook, I haven’t found a quest that sticks out in terms of horribleness…
