Worst Movies Ever, No Really

By itself Dark Tower was not good, trying to crunch 7 books into one 90-minute movie, same mistake they made with the Lemony Snickett movie. But it featured Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, those two together could sit around reading a phone book and people would pay to see it.

Personally, I feel like the casting of Roland was still wrong on that. Had the movie somehow been a success (and actually followed the novels), there would have been a giant elephant in the room to contend with if a second movie had been made:

In the books, Roland’s a skinny, old white guy. In the second novel, he picks up a black woman with multiple personality disorder who has a personality that HATES, HATES white men.

It’s like a big part of her story arc. And also ties in with what happens towards the end of the second novel.

The novels already had a strong black character in Detta/Odetta/Susannah.

It’s not even really a PICKY thing- at least the Warcraft movie somewhat stuck with some of the lore.

Nothing against Idris at all, he did a good enough job, however I just feel he was miscast for that role. I would have loved to have seen him as father Callahan though.

I don’t know wth they were thinking when they went with that script in general though. It’s like they decided “We’re just gonna scrap all of the books.”

(I still don’t like King’s “It’s another level of the Tower” thing though.)

I think the only game movie to be a mild success was sonic, I haven’t seen it so I can’t comment.
The wow movie didnt do it for me at all, and it did lose money so while some may like it, it wasnt really rated as good.

I mean, there was a streak there where it was just Uwe Boll making video game movies like Bloodrayne, Alone in the Dark, the Dungeon Siege movie. There was also Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Doom, Mario Bros, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, etc. I actually liked both Angelina and Alicia’s Lara Croft .

  • Captain Marvel and everthing about the MCU Phase 3 and 4.
  • Star Wars third trilogy or another case, the trylogy that’s killed to the Skywalker’s
  • Batman & Robin and a prediction about the Battison new movie within its same fate.
  • Everthing about Margot Robbie movies.
  • Green Latern
  • Ben Hur 2016 There are some things that are better kept in the past.
  • Everthing about Resident Evil’s movies after the first.
  • Assasins Creed
  • The Fifth Wave
  • Pretty Woman
  • Everthing TOM HOLLANDS MILLENIANS MOVIES.
  • Chappie
  • Terminator: Dark Fate, Never kill Schwarzenegger and someone from the O’Connor family Hollywood.
  • Black Panther, Geez It will be beautiful to see the details of Wakanda and a beautiful utopia of a future for Africa, but the cast, the plot and the dialogues are disgusting.

I said REAL bad movies, not the pretentious crowing. The only ones on your little self-lovefest that might be considered bad would be Green Lantern and Batman & Robin.

And while Dark Tower wasn’t a raging success it wasn’t a failure either, its Net was in the Positive

And that is missing more from my long list.

  • like… GHOSTBUSTER 2016
  • Battlefield Earth

but for each post I will try to remember the nightmares of Hollywood without it being a horror movie.

You are being the exact person OP warned us about. You rail on popular movies, and you think it makes you some cool, edgy, movie reviewer. The fact that you don’t like something says more about you than it does about the movie, game, or whatever it is. Must be a charmed life, to dislike big budget movies, when there are movies out there that are so much worse. Try watching Future World, then get back to me on how bad Green Lantern was. After you’ve seen Iron Sky, let me know how it compares to the latest Star Wars movies. Even better, just go ahead and take the last ten years worth of top grossing movies, and just list that. It’s basically what you are doing anyway.

I hate those stupid lists. I guess they are trolling to get attention and advertising hits.

thanks for telling me that I am Overpower if that is what you mean OP, if not, it is a pity that I do not take your zoomer language before they call me a boomer.

Come on… If you want to look for the real critics, you should see that you are being millionaires like Rotten Tomatoes because the companies force them to speak well of some trash movie to win more box office.

I just saw the movie, and I know how it can be so bad, not for my own taste but I’m not those people like you that easily swallow that kind of :poop::poop::poop::poop: , that kind of movie.

Look at the thread well, says Worst Movies, and if it is a bad movie, it is not the box office hype that marketing investors like Disney strategically convince you very well to see that movie, that is, showing you a Utopia, a world whose happy ending would be for all, or rather for a single minority, if what I mentioned about Wakanda and you don’t like me.

Even Eddie Murphy scoffed at the trend in his own movie Coming 2 America and told him that someone is wrong, it would be wrong.

That is why there is no need to look closely at how the professional critics, and the marketing of the films is not what it shows correctly, by setting, landscape is one thing, but when it comes to the plot it is something else.

So my friend Marvelite, before calling me anything or hypocritical, get away from the fandom that surrounds you and see well how you identify a movie character without the need for color, gender while it is only a forced elitist ideology.

And you want examples: it has nothing to do with the success that was Spiderman: Spiderverse by Mile Morales, which is a success, to the garbage that J.J. Abrams wants to do a round about Clark Kent Black Superman with Michael B. Jordan, knowing that in the comic in a universe that Superman already existed and it was another much better than the original as Calvin Ellis, even though he was Ka’el, he always had I respect how was the version of the Red Son the Soviet Superman.

The first and only time I watched Dunkirk, it was super loud at the movie theater and I fell asleep halfway thru xD

Son of the Mask.

Also confession time… I watched and liked The Mask well enough when i was a kid and going over to Son of the Mask, i thought it was good.

Well if we want to talk bad comicbook movies I’d go with…

Howard the Duck
New Mutants
Fan4tastic
it wasn’t a box office film but the 1979 Captain America

And for non-comicbook I’d go with

Hate to say it. But, I feel like the Jurassic Park series went the way of Friday the 13th with a better budget. And I for some reason, kind of like 3. No idea why. 4 does have lovely vistas at least. Fallen Kingdom, is one rehash too many.

the eyes of my mother
the black room

those are the two most recent ones that come to mind. there’s probably something super artsy to be said about a full length grey scale mute movie about a woman who locks people up in a barn and removes their body parts but i just dont see it

i don’t think i’ve ever felt more disappointed in a movie than with that one. i can’t even explain how awful i found it

And the first movie was damn good. I don’t know how you can stuff up a super hero movie. Just need lots of action and a good story.

I was just saying that the Original Poster said not to include the big budget, easy-to-bash, blockbuster movies. Then, you did exactly what they said pretentious movie snobs on the internet do. You parrot the negative reviews that you found online, and you probably haven’t even watched many of these movies. Or, even worse, you don’t want your friends to know you actually like them, even though they probably secretly like them, too.

In the end, everyone is different, and every movie has its audience. Liking a movie is not the same as saying that it is good. It’s just subjective personal preference. It’s also good to be critical about things, but also remember that it is very difficult to make a good movie. Until you have a hit movie in thousands of theaters simultaneously, it’s probably best to temper your negativity, and understand that it’s just for entertainment, and not everything is made specifically for you to enjoy.

Every anime movie that gets turned into live action too… Ghost in the Shell being one of the only exceptions… ONLY because “ScarJo” was the lead role, and at that time we didn’t have a standalone MCU Black Widow movie yet, so it (at least partially) filled a void… other factors in its favor was that sci-fi was more readily / easily adaptable into real life than say Pokemon…

Don’t even get me started on Detective Pikachu… it was mediocre at best, and only because Ryan Reynolds was in it, otherwise it would have been HORRIBLE…

Speed Racer was also quite bad, but I still enjoy it from time to time.

I also rewatch Alita regularly. I like that one a lot, and am interested to see what they do with Akira.
