Worst mission table ever?

So you put all this work into the mobile app and allow us to do mission tables for previous expansions (minus the best IMO)

Yet the design of the new mission table requires an addon to calculate success chance. Or you to memorize all your companions abilities and enemy abilities and a bunch of finger crossing?

Not to mention being punished for upgrading the mission table. The rewards dont scale even to the difficulty. at lvl 8 command table i can pretty much send out 1 companion per mission and do like 9-12 missions at once while at lvl 20 i can only do 3-4 missions and need to pretty much fully load them with companions

I do mission table just out of habit. The trickle of anima is nice and that one soul ash and stygia reward is nice, but it’s largely a waste of time.

They nerfed it so much you can slap whatever you want in there as long as they aren’t out leveled too bad and complete it fine.

You don’t need an add-on.

I like it. I treat it as side content, a’la pet battles.
Solid source of passive anima. Solid source of reputation and Enchanting mats.
Daily get 200-300 anima + ~1,000 gold, and occasionally more.

I don’t see any issues with command table.

Edit; I only have 1 issue actually. I wish I could delete certain followers. My main got 16 of them. Not enough missions to accommodate them all.

I never put too much thought into which companions I’m slotting in, personally. I just make sure the melees are up front and squishier ones in the back and don’t send too many underleveled ones out at once. Only failed a couple missions like this.

My only problem with it now is the glacial pace of leveling up. Even the 4000 xp missions don’t always get them a level past 45 or so. And you get one of those maybe a couple times a week.

Every mission table in the game has had an addon to make it easier and increase your chances.

I find this one is pretty simple to navigate without an addon because they don’t have skills that lock certain followers to specific missions

If you make sure your HP and attack are higher than your enemies you are almost garunteed to win

It’s definitely the worst iteration they’ve come up with so far.

Thanks to having henchmen in their high 30s and henchmen in their teens (because of Torghast), my henchmen in their teens don’t get level appropriate quests anyway, so I get to throw them at stuff ten levels higher than their level, which I know they’re going to lose in order to level them up. Meanwhile, I also tap the breaks on the higher level henchmen so as not to skew the level range of available quests even worse (not that my high 30s henchmen could do the campaign quests in the high 40s that I’m being offered anyway).

I kind of like the adventurer’s table. And it’s a good way to get some additional anima. I admit though that I have never watched the combat and always skip to the end. Unless I am missing something, it doesn’t seem necessary.

That’s highly debatable. BfA’s was absolutely worthless and the stupid RNG troop feature made planning and optimizing impossible. At least this one adds an element of actual combat to it that’s marginally more interesting.

I have never used an addon for the mission table and I do just fine…are you failing frequently?

The thing has been a cash cow for me without minimal effort.

I didn’t find BFA’s worthless.

Pet tokens, timewalking currency, pearls for buying Nazjatar gear to speed up alt gearing, passive rep gains, passive azerite gains, buff items that I could sell off, seasonal event currency, etc. I made quite a lot of gold off the BFA table.

I have zero interest in sending minions to do more involved version of “combat” against the gods of RNG.

I mean you can get all of those things listed from the SL one too, and there’s basically zero RNG if you know what you’re doing with it (or have Venture Plan do it for you). Unlike the random troop generator from BFA.

Venture plan makes it much better. Have it do the work for you, the default UI is just horrible for the mission table is SL.

It isn’t stellar, but the tables never have been. Except during WoD and then they were stellar for players but awful for the game as a whole really.

While it’s flawed, it’s largely ignorable so that’s not a big deal now. Embrace it with its flaws or…ignore it exists and you’ll still be fine really. Not really something I consider worth complaining about.

New mission table punishes you for doing the “campaign” missions.
My Druid was working towards the mounts but now I can’t reliably clear the Soul Ash, Augment Rune and Material Cache missions because the enemy formations are sometimes insane.
Like 16-18k health 1-1.2k power and tons of AoE and Dmg reduction skills.

The wild jumps in mission difficulty make zero sense.
Go from 10s to 20s to 30s to 40s to 60.
But if you do the campaign missions as they appear you will consistently be under leveled and struggling to catch up.

Right now most of my companions on my Druid are upper 30’s to low 40’s trying to clear level 51-60 missions and getting steamrolled.
I really wish I had held off on going for the 4 mounts. I’ve only been able to clear 2/4 of the missions.

Also, some of the companions are basically useless. When the troops outshine more than half of the companions that were time-gated and tedious to level you know the design is bad.

For the first time ever since they started to use missions tables, the SL version made me seek for an addon. That should be enough to tell how bad it is.

They should stop bothering with it at this point

As I explained earlier in the thread, my main issue with the table is the mission scaling disparity among my minions, not the rewards. I was simply pointing out that I didn’t think BfA’s table was “worthless” because I found value in its rewards. Still do. The problem with the SL table isn’t the rewards, it’s the mechanics.

You didn’t need an add-on to tell you were going to win or lose on BFA’s table. The chance for success was laid out right up front.

I think TBC had the best mission table :stuck_out_tongue:
