Worst expansion crown

No content? SL had seven zones of content and storylines for each one.

Still BFA.

You can’t tell people anything, don’t waste your time. Even if the minigames and collectibles from each zone are hundreds of hours of content per zone, they still won’t get it lol.

Anyways, on topic, the worst one for me is easily TBC. It did so much damage to Warcraft lore that we spent a lot of time in every patch of Legion retconning it

AMEN! I played my Pally up to 254, my DH up to 256 in ZM. Hated it. Got soooo sick of flying killers with a detection range of 1/2 a mile! Seemed like it. Have worked up a few alts which haven’t and will not step foot in ZM. Blah
Had fun in Revendreth and Korthia…at least.

WoD. Metzen’s failed orc wet dream.

The answer is WoD.

On what grounds do you say Cata?

Lol.

Whatever the most current expansion is. Until its no longer current. Then it was an underrated gem.

Anyone else miss azerite? it let you really make your own tier bonus as opposed to sl and its: you get this and thats it!

Shadowlands.

Shadowlands was so bad, it was insulting.

What they did to Arthas will always sting…

WoD.
First iteration of the carcinogen known as Pathfinder, which only exists because of the massive negative response from players at blizzard’s decision not to implement flying at all iirc.
Mountains of noble savage orc stuff that I couldn’t possibly give any less of a toss about in this or any other possible reality.
Gutted my beloved MoP Demonology because “we’d rather you not play it”.
Another helping of FOMO legendary crap in the ring.
Absolutely wrecked the gold economy with all the essentially free dosh, iirc.
“Draenor is free!”

Many are saying Shadowlands but it’s WOD. Nothing will ever be as bad as the selfie patch.

Biggest eyeroll in WoW history. I couldn’t believe they ended WoD with that crap…

For you. An opinion isn’t fact.

And the Selfie Patch actually had a lot of other great stuff in it.

Shadowlands has more world content than any previous expansion except maybe Legion (and that’s only if you count every single class hall campaign).

The problem with Shadowlands, which I mentioned in my first post, is that you have to flip covenants every day in order to see and do it all. That was Shadowlands’ huge mistake.

Also that the content is so heavily weighted to Necrolords and Venthyr. I’ve been Kyrian most of this expansion (who got shafted in the content department) and I’m finding new stuff every day that I never knew about, now.

You’re right, I’m being far too generous to Mists. SL has it beat hands-down in terms of world content. The only thing Mists really had going for it was a few extra garbage bosses in each raid, which was more of an annoyance than a feature.

Mists also had Timeless Isle, which introduced the “really really really long respawn with a 1% chance to drop what you want” model that still plagues the game to this day. Definitely should get more demerit points for that.

Toss up between Cataclysm and Shadowlands. This is the first time where I didn’t want to raid in the tail end of an expansion before a new one comes out. Im lost on where to get legendaries+the cost of the leggos+no catch up gear. You know what, SL takes the crown.

Didn’t seem like a mistake to me. I had my main in Revendreth and alts in the other three. Worked out fine.

WoD.
I spent about 10 days playing it and lost interest. I didn’t resub until the final patch.

Shadowlands.

There were other expansions with bad gameplay aspects (Cata, WoD), but nothing compares to bad gameplay aspects and the unspeakable acts of lore massacre perpetuated by Shadowlands.

It will always be WoD to me. SL was meh, but not even the highlights of WoD can even begin to tint those goggles rosey with time.

If anything, it was the delay in being able to freely swap covs. Sometimes I’d swap covs between each dungeon depending on what it was lol. So swapping LATER was never a problem, just a simple talk to an npc and your hearth insta resets. Its not a big deal.
The first few patches though… 3+ days waiting to swap xD

Regardless, the simple act of having to swap covs is really not a big deal. Time gating and being stuck in cov limbo waiting for them to ‘decide to want you back’, actually for the bird lol.

Sorry to be blunt, but that is just false. Bastion is the first cov you encounter, it has a challenge arena where as nerco is just a fleshfactory. There are tons of side quests and story quests there. Same with fae.
Kyrian also has tons of hidden stuff around their zone which you probably won’t find unless you look it up.
