They couldn’t even do old expansion scaling right in Shadowlands - my characters that were soloing Legion content in BfA still can’t solo the same content today without leveling to 60 and gearing up.

I loved WOD. Leveling was fun, searching for rares for good upgrades (without add-ons) we’re fun, dungeons, raids, and pvp was fun. Classes were fun. Glad spec was fun. Introduction to Mythic dungeons was great. Playing alts we’re great. I had several characters that I played as mains, because there weren’t all the chores we had to do in the next 3 expansions.
Shadowlands.

Shadowlands, without a doubt. In some ways it improved on BfA, which was also a bad one, but there was so much other garbage thrown into it that any improvements felt minimal at best.
That and the story was the worst we’d ever had whlie the writers decided to gut 20+ years worth of lore for 99-cent store Sauron.

shadowlands is the first expansion i missed almost the entire thing except for mop but that was for health reasons

I bet if they ever ran the numbers, I bet way more people played more and stuck around for longer in WoD than Shadowlands, even with the only thing to do being garrisons.

BfA and Warlords, but neither was all bad. I still enjoyed parts of them, but they were the least enjoyable to me.
Shadowlands easily. Doesn’t even compete.
WOTLK > Legion > Cata > MoP > WoD > BFA > TBC > Classic > SL
Imo BFA and SL are fighting over said crown.
Since i quit during Cataclysm, id have to say that. As the other expansions i toughed it out (although, SL got very close at points…)
Honestly? it’s hard to say, But if I was going to say any particular expansion? Cataclysm, I didn’t mind SL too much, yeah it had a lot of not great parts but M+ was doing pretty well.
WoD had CM’s and somewhat decent raiding and an ~OK~ leveling experience.
Cataclysm? It was raid or die.
You’re kidding me right? Shadowlands is so bad even the devs are erasing it from leveling LOL
I’m addicted to WoW like a smoker on 10 packs a day, and even I can’t find the will to log in more than a few minutes a week right now.

WoD might objectively be worse in some areas. However, having sat through WoD there is little justification for making many of the same (as well as all new) cork ups in SL…
It’s easily BfA.
BC > Legion > Wrath > SL = Mists > Cata > WoD > BfA
I lost more friends in BfA than any other point in the game’s history, by far.

I want to give it to BFA, but it’s going to SL.
BFA had a cool theme that was ruined, and some parts of it were fun. SL just feels like a giant middle finger to long-time warcraft fans, on top of being a steaming pile of crap with no content.
