I’d say depends on the metrics which you wanna rate them on.

Worst story? Shadowlands, Jailer was a horrible penultimate villain with a shoddy backstory, and the nathrezim being behind everything ever was a dumb point
Sheer lack of content? WoD, coulda been great if there was an additional raid or two, I honestly think that if M+ was introduced in WoD instead of Legion, it would be remembered far more fondly, and way too much emphasis on Garrisons doing everything for you
Added power systems? BFA, specifically azerite armor, the neck stat island grind, and to a lesser degree the more egregiously abused corruptions (looking at u twilight dev)
Ridiculous RNG on loot? Legion, at least early on with the legendary drops

Lies. I’m watching Blood of Zeus on Netflix and I feel they’ve done it plenty well.

The problem is Warcraft fans make up their own fiction and then get mad when things don’t line up with their head canon. Just enjoy the ride.

I actually enjoyed SL mechanically for the most part, the whole locked covenant thing was annoying and the story… well we know…

Though as a collector, it was packed with stuff to do/grab.

We said conduit energy was a bad idea. It was.
We said not having mounts in the maw was unfun. It was.
We said dont tie a grind to Torghast and have it be an endless run for rewards. They tied a grind to it and made it unfun.

We as in the we who gave this feedback. I was not the only one. There was a lot of feedback from youtubers, streamers, beta testers ect. We is not everyone. We is just the people who also gave similar feedback to this.

Dragonflight is the worst expansion and it isn’t even really close.

DF made WoD look decent and that is insane. They could make an expansion worse than DF in the future but it would take a Herculean effort.

Beta test? Despite what people say, beta test is not an opportunity for “the community” to redesign the expansion before it is released. Beta test is to find if the system will crash and weed out coding bugs. If you complain and your complaint is not about a crash then they will say “Oh good, someone tried it and it didn’t crash”. Win column.

YouTubers and streamers? Remember, you are not the customer, you are the product. Their income depends on the number of clicks they get. They will pick a target demographic and tell those people what they want to hear.

The two most popular target demographics for WoW YouTubers that I have seen are people who want “how to” videos (i.e. signsofKelini, Hazelnut, Breezy, etc) and people who love to hate WoW (i.e. Bueller, Asmongold, Preach, etc).

The first group doesn’t complain, they explain. The second group should be considered entertainment only unless they are doing an interview.

So who is left? The forums. That would be a few thousand of the seven million playing this game. That hardly reaches margin of error much less a significant number of players.
