Worst class to level?

imo, it’s mage. no other classes do I feel like the game is tilted against me.
i have to play a spec where i pepper mobs with arcane missles, because the other specs are about big, heavy strikes that do massive damage… but scaling or whatever makes them not do enough damage to regular mobs to one-shot’em, which is kind’ve the whole appeal of playing a mage.

but hey, that’s just my opinion.

I hated levelling a mage until about level 34 (old system) where I switched to frost and never turned back. Now I absolutely love it.

Mages have always been a struggle for me.

priest, shaman, rogue are all pretty annoying to level from scratch

Rogues have always been kind of rough in early levels. You’re usually just so energy starved most of the time until you get the right passives that improve it. And your face is squishy.

Mage is all about slow and kite.

Once you master these, you’re fine.

If you stand still like a melee class and take crits to the face, you’re gonna have a bad day.

oof… forgot about them… the class of ‘shadow-pain, bubble, spam smite cause it’s the only way to have good survivability’. …still disliking mage, but yeah… priest is pretty-bad too.

Casters in general are the worst for me. Priests are the worst, then mages, then warlocks. Warlocks at least have nice tanky pets to take the hits to the face for you.

until recently it took me years to level a shammy

You forgot the part where you heal yourself with the damage you deal as discipline, so you might take a bit longer to kill stuff, but you can solo anything like a God.

Or, just go shadow and kill stuff faster…

Why? Elemental hits like a truck, and enhancement ain’t too far behind.

no, i remembered. it’s why i said bubble as part of the rotation.

I also had a terrible time leveling a frost mage including at 60 until I started getting covenant gears then it’s smooth sailing afterwards. The Maw made me extremely angry at times initially. Patience is definitely required but the payoff is worth it.

dunno, just boring. Also I play resto.

also, enhancement feels weird to me now… though, that might just mean i have to level a new one to understand how it’s supposed to be played (like, it feels like it’s half-finished to me. as if they were trying to make it feel like it did in WoD, but without the totems…).

Frost mage is fun and was pretty easy leveling for me.

If you spend some time PvP’ing with them, you learn pretty fast how to make the most of your mobility and CC. Makes being a mage at all levels much easier.

Priest hands down.

Want to kill something at a normal speed with barely any survivability (shadow) or kill things slower than a tank without any taunts (disc)? Oh, and awful speed boosts in shadow too. They are much improved in SL, but they haven’t been really chill to level in the overworld since like Wrath.

I’d be +1 mage for not loved leveling. Tried in the past. trying again off and on. Its missing something for me.

And its not casters as whole. I’ve done warlock to 50 now they go to 60 a few hours here and there. Don’t recall any sigh moments in their 1 to 50.

OCD says the mage will level. It is literally the only order not done. To start up ye old mount at least. Well monk too, that is leveled to 50 (120 at the time), just never wrapped up its order hall business.

Nothing is really bad anymore. Before WoD I’d say mage or rogue for a new player.

True mage mount is the violet spellwing anyway.

F for the mages that missed Legion.
