Worst class to level 1-70

If we’re getting a 58 boost, and lets just say I have a level 1 warlock or a level 16 paladin, which one is going to be more of a pain to level up?

Or more generally, what do YOU think is the worst class to have to level 1-70? My vote is warrior - mostly because I’m an idiot and decided to play as arms to level which means I have to eat every other single target kill or so, but my warrior’s already 46 so I’m reluctant to spend the boost on him.

Warriors for sure if you are solo leveling. There’s just so much downtime is needed while questing.

Paladin is absolutely the worst. Only 1 ability to press, autoattacking the remainder of the time.

Warlock OTOH is probably the single easiest and fastest class to level, even more so than Hunters and Druids.

Horde really get the short end of the stick in this regard - only blood elves can be paladins, and blood elves can’t be boosted. Good chance they change that before release IMO.

Agreed, played it as my first char on launch, got to 50 and it was taking nearly 50 seconds to kill 1 mob because i had low level quest gear.

Made me want to buy rope from a hardware store.

I don’t remember Paladin being that bad. I know I did mostly dungeons at low levels cuz of the dungeon xp boost made it viable. After about lvl 40ish I remember just aoe farming mobs as Prot as I could gather mobs with my mount. By the time I got to outlands it was pretty awesome aoe farming as prot cuz of the better mob density.

That’s a good point. Leveling a paladin in TBC classic will probably be a lot better since there will be huge demand for dungeon leveling.

But it wasn’t really like that the first time around since most people didn’t do dungeon farming to level. It was just really slow and boring to level a paladin by questing.

Lock will always be faster than a Paladin. Paladin has zf solo potential which can help break up the grind.

Guess warlock since u won’t be able to boost pallies

Thats like asking which color M&M is the worst. Sure people have their favorite(Blue) but they are all good.

All classes in WoW level easy if you know what you’re doing.

^ This.

If you have a 60, feed your warrior enchanted BoE Blues/Epics.

A geared warrior is a nightmare and endless killing machine. Have their First Aid high enough to use Heavy Runecloth and you will have VERY little downtime.

I mean, not true. Unless you’re horde. In which case you can’t boost a Paladin only because blood elves can’t be boosted.

On topic however, Paladin is incredibly easy to level, just slow. Their self heals and other tools allow for very little downtime when compared to most other classes. They just aren’t the most exciting thing to level as it’s autoattack city for quite a long time.

Paladin for killing mobs, warrior for downtime.

If you’re only going to level one right now, and boost the other, I would guess a more accurate question would be which is easier to level to 58?

I’d say the Lock would be easier for lower levels since you can solo quest faster and more efficiently, while dpsing dungeons as they are available.

The Pally will be a slower quester, and while being able to heal a dungeon would be advantageous, there isn’t the flood of 5 man dungeons happening right now.

Once you’re 60 and TBC comes out, The Pallys ability to tank will come in handy for TBC leveling.

TBH I was originally planning on boosting the warlock, but I’ve never really delved into paladin so i wasn’t sure if boosting one would be a great idea or not. TBH paladin looks like it’s an awful leveling experience - at least in classic. Warlocks are dps and have a pet so they’re also (as others agreed with me) very easy to level. I think I’m going to boost the paladin if we get a free boost.

yes, paladin leveling in classic is GOD AWFUL. but it isn’t nearly as bad in tbc. and any expansion after that it’s literally a face roll.

Paladin in my experience.
The damage tree is unreliable.
The prot tree while immortal is slow.
Leveling as pure holy is only for the truly masochistic.

I’m currently leveling one now on and off and it’s reminding me why I don’t want to main change for TBC.

Almost on par with hunters for ease of leveling and you cna level as whatever spec you like. Thanks to some truly powerful demon NPC’s in TBC it may even be on par with a hunter.

i found warlock easier than hunter personally. mostly because of the wand thing. you can just afk with a wand and not use any mana and you don’t have to keep rebuying your wand every time you go back to town.

Either of those are actually pretty easy to level, although warlock might actually be easier because of pets. I would suggest leveling as demonology just for bigger, more powerful pets.

But paladin has self-heals, and can also heal dungeons while leveling even as a ret spec.

Either way they are pretty easy compared to say… warriors.

I’d say affliction is better while leveling but that’s jsut me. Being able to take 4-5 mobs at a time is broken.

if you level as demo you have to use a wand most of the time and not spells. if you level as aff you can just use certain spells and drain tank.

also if you go aff use your succubus but take stuff off autocast and just eat its mana. is the quickest way to level one i think.
