Worried FFXIV will kill WoW

“This is my thread and i can cry if i want to”

Got it!

Sorry, what? Didn’t FFXIV just recently get a whole slew of new story content, trials/raids, and dungeons along with new dungeon variants, a new farming simulator, and a bunch of other stuff?

Is this your idea of a lacking patch?

You should check out the FF XIV forums. Its so weird. First off, its like going back 5-10yrs. The commumity in there, are cult level naive. Yoshi-P is their literal messiah.

the genre is nearly dead. I think the 2011ish F2P argument of oversaturation of AAA MMOs is long dead. look around you. you’re in the last dying titles of a former genre, taking its seat next to the Real-Time Strategy and the City-Builder genres.

Didn’t it alreafyt?

Thst was endwalker
Back in the summer when all the streamer such as asmongold came to ff14
They ran out of digital acces key

Spoiler, you don’t, and if you feel like the only redeeming part about what you have to say is that “the wow community agrees” it’s prolly not worth saying

The story sucks. Trials/Raids are ok, but all in the same predicable patch line and the classes are getting gutted left and right the game itself is no longer fun. The new Criteion dungeons are a fail, the rewards are trash, the farming thing is also a fail and even Yoshida P said "don’t get your hopes up"when they released it and remember they had barely any information on it because it was basic, bare bones solo crap. The sooner people in XIV see Yoshi is not the Grand Messiah, which some are, then the game will be good. Right now it isn’t, so have fun with the grumpy Ascian anime guy and cat boy you love so much, it isn’t enough to keep the game running. I will say their music is great as always.

Nobody playing FFXIV actually thinks this.

Again, nobody playing FFXIV actually thinks this.

They aren’t a fail. They just need a better reward system in place for them. The current cosmetics are lacking. As content, they stand perfectly fine on their own and are a blast to complete.

Yoshi P did say this, but island sanctuaries have seen positive reception for the most part. You just have a handful of people who expected Stardew Valley when it was absurd to expect that to begin with, and now they’re whining and acting like island sanctuaries bombed when most people are content with it.

FFXIV is fine.

I saw Island Sanctuary and stop. That will eat a lot of my time.

Stopped reading right there. If you can’t accept some people do not like things that you like then you can’t hold a conversation. Enjoy your cat man eating burgers.

I know that I am 3 days late to this thread, but I just had to say that this is one of the dumbest things I’ve read in a while. Anyone who has played since the beginning would know that WoW has had many improvements since it came out. Maybe these people are confused by Classic, which even though the content is old, it still uses a version of the modern WoW game engine (not the version of the game engine that was used when those old expansions first came out). You used to be able to play WoW on a Pentium 3, using videocards such as a 3dfx Voodoo3 or Nvidia TNT2 using DirectX 7 or OpenGL. Now it’s a Multi-threaded DirectX 12 game that supports Ray Tracing.

Lmao.

Yeah okay.

Perhaps if you go into more detail about why you are confused, someone could dumb things down to your level and help you understand.

I’m not confused about anything.

Guy’s playing classic expecting it to look recent or something.

Bruh, WoD completely changed the graphics and artstyle just boot up retail.

OP’s probably just a shill or a troll tbh.

Literally Garrisons, lmao

Sure, but not intrinsically tied to any important content. It’s there if you want to do it, which in my eyes makes it better in comparison.

Let’s be fair here. What if it is, actually? FF14 has not the issues WoW has, because the developers do listen to the players and not just because the sub numbers go down.

Both games are good. FFXIV is really a good mmoRPG. Very good story telling and their visuals and animations are top notch. They also have lots of things for casuals players to spend their time on outside of dungeons and raids. You can basically be a full time crafter or full time house manager etc.

WoW is more action oriented and better pvp as well as more variety in gearing. But it has older visuals and very limited animations. It does not have much of anything outside these except xmog runs I guess. But I think DF will make crafting more relevant and supposed fun and rewarding like in FFXIV.

I cannot play two mmo at the same time so for now I unsubbed on my FFXIV to prep for DF but once I hit a wall in DF and world content is still lacking for me then I will once again move back to ffxiv. I have several patches worth of content waiting for me now in FFXIV

One thing WoW absolutely does better than FFXIV though is its website and forums. FFXIV website and forums is like the 1980s with updated resolutions lol. Account management while it has improved since it’s playonline days is still waaaay user unfriendly compared to blizzard’s.
