Is there a pre-req for unlocking these or are they only active very briefly? I have finished the campaign in all 4 zones, 2/5 TWW campaign and level 80. I can see my guildies getting achieves for doing them but I’m not sure why I can’t see the event icon on my map in any of the zones, even the one they say they did it in. Any advice on what I’m missing?
You need to have opened a bountiful delve chest to get the quest item to start it. But because delves are only up to level 3 right now opening one is a huge waste of resources so most people haven’t done it yet.
I would advise you remain one of those people and only look into them next week once we have higher level delves that are worth using keys in.

The only Key Delve you should do is for the quest and subsequently the quest for tge world soul if tgere is one.
After that just save up.
You can use more Souls, 5x or 10x i think, to get better rewards
