Honestly, I’d love for them to take the Percy Jackson approach.
- Where their essence is obliterated & scattered, but over a long period of time (or short, with a ritual, enough power or shear luck) eventually reform.
- Perhaps Blizzard could add a twist on it, and throw in reincarnation.
They could also have the ‘reform’ as ordeal as the apparent true-order of death, yet have it negated or currently ‘permanently halted’ by technology of the First Ones throughout the Shadowlands, to prevent threats re-arising that could threaten the cosmos.
Personally, I like the idea of the reincarnation since it’d give monks, priests and overall spiritualism in WoW some extra substance to their ways of life & you could probably do some more world building with such.
Heck I’m sure they could have a character who’s an anomaly to the way the cosmos functions with reincarnation, and they appear to have memories / flashbacks that feel like they’re from another person … but not — Towards later on revealing it’s their past life (It’d be cool for character development, or perhaps bringing various characters back into the fold in a fun unique way).
Ultimately:
Having both of those concepts above would be great for pursuing future enemies, creating new interesting allies and creating new stories into the future of the Warcraft Universe.
