World Shaman Thrall vs #1 Arch Druid Malfurion

To be clear, lore wise, these guys would try to avoid fighting each other at all costs, since they both understand that each other both want to protect the world and its Natural balance. However, lets say due to their respective loyalties to their peoples, a fight were to be unavoidable. Who would win?

Keep in mind this is full power Thrall, back when he was at his prime, the World Shaman. Also Malfurion is at absolute full power too.

They would both team up and kill sylvanas

They wouldn’t need to team up, either one could beat Sylvanas 1 vs 1 with med to low difficulty. Assuming Saurfang dont show up and axe people in the back.

But things are so much more fun together

I think Malf has a slight edge mainly due to age and experience. Malf also has been seen to need far less gesturing and effort for the power to disable a foe, while most shamanism I can recall requires significantly more hand and arm motions to cast.

Give Thrall an axe and he’ll win. Somehow Orc with Axe is the universal trump card against all things Nelf Druid.

Play soundfile: I must be behind my target to use this ability.

This, Malf has the edge on experience and his druid powers are more dynamic and fast paced + its harder to rip Malf from his power source, while Thrall depends on the elements who can fickle jerks.

Im not 100% sure which one of them could output more raw power, however.

On the flip side of the coin, Thrall has the edge on tankiness- Malf is somewhat of a glass cannon when not on bear form.

I’m biased I know but I’m still going to give this to Malfurion. It wouldn’t be a cake walk but I think he’d take this. Thrall is or was an extremely powerful shaman even if he’s only been doing it for 15 years maybe. Malfurion has been a druid for over 10,000 years. He had enough power to get Archimond to leave the battlefield on WotA.

Druids and Shamans are similar, they both evoke the elements. Druids can’t contol fire or earth in the form of rocks or water in the same way and shamans can’t control the plant life. I think the difference is that shamans need to ask for the power including Thrall and druids or at least Malfurion can do it with ease. He held Darkshore together with that hurricane, he can control thunder with just his mind and the tree’s bow to him.

I just don’t think there is anything that Thrall can throw that Malfurion can’t counter. Not to mention he doesn’t have to worry about the elements disagreeing with him. Also mal can call those spirit whisps.

Mal also has some combat skills too, Saurfang had trouble with him. I think he has picked up some of those animal abilities in his humanoid form too.

Hrm. Fun one. Power levels all over the place, but both at some sort of A to S tier.

I’d say in a contest of pure raw force, at his height, Thrall has the edge. His attacks hit hard, and with raw power. His physical combat style follows suit, though he doesn’t particularly display any amazing talent in the latter.

Malfurion seems like much more of a tactical fighter. He can call on an incredibly diverse array of abilities, and doesn’t seem to pin himself down to one style.

I think it boils down to context. I’d say in a straight arena, head on clash, I’d give the edge to Thrall. In any sort of war of maneuver, or battle of attrition, I’d give it to Malfurion, both in terms of style, as well as displayed discipline.

Would Malfurion team with Thrall to take down Sylvanas at this point?

I can very much see the night elves holding the Horde as a whole in contempt for Teldrassil, even to the point to rejecting any notion of peace between Thrall and Anduin for the sake of vengeance.

Then we might actually see some good and honest inner turmoil with the Alliance, which this game has sorely been lacking.

Of course, Blizz being Blizz, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Naw they will forgive everyone but sylvanas

The winner would be Thrall.

NaTHANOS would intervene and kill both of them by simply snapping his fingers.

Turns out undead archers are the most powerful beings in the Warcraft universe.

Hell, he could even take N’zoth in a 1v1!

Malf obviously.

The elements will deny Thrall’s call for aid as Malfurion is a guardian of Azeorth. They would not hurt him. Malfurion has no restriction. He’d face roll Thrall.

A more even match up is Anduin and Malfurion. Anduin can one shot Azerite tanks.

In Elegy Malfurion struggled with Sylvanas and was covered with black wounds while she was not. Hes not as strong as people think Knaak made him seem like a God but blizz has significantly toned down his power since then.

No he wasn’t? There was no mention of the condition Malfurion or Sylvanas were in from their fight in Elegy or A Good War.

And in-game Malfurion was shown a lot more positively than Sylvanas.

Didn’t Sylvanas’ shamans use fire elementals to help burn Teldrassil or something?

My lore with the elemental planes is squishy, but they never seemed to care that much about the druidic nature side of things.

Thrall wins this. He is Metzen in character-form, and has all of the plot armor in the world
