Pay for a service, expect service to be available. Minute you don’t pay your sub fee, you are denied access… simple expectations, not entitlement
Is there a link to this issue from Blizzard so we can check to see if they’ve fixed it or not?
No, but in the launcher they said it’s an authentication server issue. I can’t find anything on the realm status page though.
I pay for phone service (sometimes I don’t get service in areas)
I pay for cable (sometimes it gets interrupted)
I pay for internet (sometimes my WiFi is down)
The list can go on, and on
unbelievable
If those complaining REALLY cared that much, they would unsub, but they wont
I’m a (professional) software developer and the first thing we’d do is inform our customers what’s going on and provide them with the means to check the status of the incident while we pursue the matter … but that’s the professional way to do this
I was pointing out expectation vs entitlement. What does any of what you listed have to do with that?
Your expectations give zero room for error, which is unreasonable
Yeah, but if your telecom company out of nowhere said “Hey all of our services are down right now, and we’re not really sure why” you’d probably not be too thrilled. Happened to me a couple years ago, lost all my service on my cell phone for like 8 hours. I swapped service providers like 3 days later because it’s not acceptable. There wasn’t any scheduled maintenance, so this is just some random thing. The main issue is that for a lot of people, this is a relatively common occurrence.
Blizzard replied in the following:
I un-subbed like 6 months ago, just riding the token wave until I’m out of game time and gold. Never giving this company another penny!
the error still exists, i never said it didn’t. I’m allowed to have that expectation. That is not entitlement. again, nothing you have replied has supported your accusation of entitlement
Hunter melee’d the server
He’s not really getting the distinction, probably not worth the time or effort explaining it.
I’m caught inside of some sort of never-ending portal to nowhere.
Thanks, now I’m depressed
If you liked that, you should check out his song “Crucify Your Mind”, the whole album is great!
