so what’s the deal with quests that pop up today but randomly decide they’re not giving me rep…even though I haven’t done them yet?
For example, the “Titan Artifacts” quest on this litle island in the NE corner of Isle of Dorn. This quest just popped up this morning on reset. None of my characters had done it yet. The rep is greyed out. Thinking this had to be a bug, I went ahed and did it anyway–no rep/renown. Why? This quest was literally brand new today…what’s the deal?
It appears that the WQs give a one time bonus for each WQ period. Not “once every time the world quest shows up.” Just “once and then never again for a world quest of the same name.”
this greatly diminishes the value of doing World Quests then, right? I mean, at some point w’ell cycle through all of them and there’ll be none left.
Also, not to argue with you but 9 times out of 10, the pet battle and the skyracing ones pop up on a regular basis within the same week (but new 3-day cycle) and they always seem to give rep and I KNOW i’ve done these multiple times.
its almost gotta be a bug, but the fact it hasnt been fixed yet and its been this way since launch… i’m not very hopeful
between this and the massive pain it is now to do certain WQs because of low spawn rates and tagging, they’re almost not even worth doing
Even if WQ reputation has been nerfed like this, don’t rares give repeatable rep? I don’t know if it’s daily or weekly, but I’m pretty sure killing the same rare again at some point will still give you the rep for it. Or maybe I’m just crazy.
Perhaps the pet battles are different somehow? Or you’re seeing Contract rep gains? All I can say with certainty is that I’ve not gotten tep for world quests that I’ve already done at least once on a character so far, and thus that was my preliminary conclusion.
It has definitely impacted my desire to do world quests.
WQs should give out rep every time you do them even if it’s just for one character in the warband, not doing so just to drag out this lame rep garbage grind even longer and is not good content.

I mean I did the beta and this wasn’t happening during beta. You could do a quest but then for the next 3 days (when the quest was up); you’d not get rep/renown on your warband if you repeated it on an alt. This makes sense and keeps things fair (whichever toon completed the quest would still get the other rewards tho, like currency and gear).
But what’s happening now is that some quests will come up …get done on my main and then COME BACK UP during the same “week” (but a NEW 3-day period) and then still be greyed out. This kinda makes no sense b/c it would rob you from renown gain you should be getting when actively doing WQ’s on a daily basis.
There’s really no need for this. If you want to respond this way, just…dont. This doesn’t seem like intended behavior. Running out of WQ’s to do during an active season and this early in? Yah…no thanks.
i mean… yeah??? ever since world quests were added, theyve been one of the best ways to gradually increase reputations. if blizzard has decided to completely change this it would be nice to know for sure, since many of us are thinking this is a pretty serious bug.
if they meant WQs to be replaced by farming rares, i think that’s incredibly stupid personally and ill be damned if im gonna spend my free time camping rares for rep, but at least TELL us that
