But sticking to the PvP side of things, it’d be pretty ridiculous if you’re fighting a 10v10 or something in WPvP and the person you kill instantly resurrects because their graveyard is closer, and end up overwhelming you because they can continuously resurrect while you have a further run back.
They need to rethink how they approach World PvP in many ways. When someone is purposely grieffing you, that is a problem. Someone who camps your corpse so they can kill you over and over again puts a stain on World PVP. People don’t want to turn on War mode because of behavior like this. If your trying to complete a World PVP objective, like they had in the Outlands, that would be different. But, someone running through the maw? That is just compete negativity and should be addressed.
Really? Not the type of answer one would expect from someone representing us. Turn off war mode??? really, that sounds like something the get gud crowd would say.
How about something more along the lines of a 30 second rez timer like in BG, not a scaling rez timer to 5 min… Or one that scales to a max of 30 seconds??
PvP especially WPvP is basically lawless if you dont expect to be camped/ganked you probably dont do much warmode on stuff. Anything blizzard would add would subtract greatly from what warmode is suppose to be. And the rez graveyard idea is only good of you cant just sit on top of the graveyard and gank them more examples like Legion gys in Argus
So, I am not complaining about being ganked, camped, or warmode, reread my original post. My request is with the timer.
Changing things to change things is not always a good idea, and not changing things because… well it’s the way it’s always been is not always a good idea also.
Agree or disagree, just wondering if the minds at Blizz can get together and take a serious look at it. Not just 10 min, and move to the next shiny object. Sitting 2 min waiting to rez seems a bit excessive. You state, ‘any changes blizzard would do would take away from what warmode is supposed to be’.
That is an easy answer, and very close minded, not thinking outside the box trying to improve will eventually kill every aspect of the game, a business, and life. No system is perfect, there is always room for improvement.
I agree with changing things but I think certain things have been well thought out in the rez timer category. I know that if I fight someone and they use major defensives they wont instantly respawn and have those defenisves back while im healing myself. Even if the tables were turned and I attacked someone lets say killing a rare I wanted I like knowing they will be on a rez timer or a walk back instead of spawning back and making my fight last longer
No one truly represents the World PvP section on the community council. We have people who represent the PvP scene as a “whole”.
I would’ve loved to be put on the council solely as World PvP representative.
Anyway, he’s not wrong though. Those are put in place for a reason. If someone is corpse camping you, take the resurrection sickness or have a friend come by to help or possibly even have them phase you out of the zone. If the person is camping the graveyard, I agree that maybe Blizzard could implement a 10-15 second immunity after taking a resurrection sickness to allow a hearth. That’s the risk of War Mode.
It doesn’t scale to 5 minutes, it caps out at 2 minutes. I think 2 minutes is fine.
Well sure, that’s important. Point being, the resurrection timer is there for a reason. It’s fine if someone runs back to their corpse and resurrects once since they’re not on a timer yet, but having no timer at all would be ridiculous.
Yeah, I was exaggerating for the post to get a point across, my other posts are more accurate when referencing the timer. Looking back, I guess I shouldn’t have put that time… kinda distracts from my points.
Regardless if you were exaggerating or not, I think resurrection timers are fine and Blizzard has no intention of changing anything about them, and for good reason.
Back in the day old MMOs would punish you heavily for dying, making you lose experience or even levels just for dying in the game. World of Warcraft at the time had the appeal that dying wouldn’t be as punishing. You wouldn’t lose levels or experience, just a run back to the corpse and a timer if you continued to die.
I don’t think Blizzard should make dying in the game any less punishing than that. It’s perfect the way it is, and holds a classic staple in the MMORPG genre.
Can confirm. Quit playing Tibia in favor of WoW specifically for that reason (in ~2005); I was amazed and thrilled to not lose levels/exp or gear after dying.
