World pvp shadowlands

Hello everyone
I just made a new account recently and got back on WoW, I played from Vanilla all the way til Warlords of Draenor

TBC is great I’m loving it so I made an alt on Shadowlands and I’m really liking it also it’s an awesome xpac but there might be a problem for me when it comes to shadowlands. I’m a PvPer and not just regular PvP but World PvP is my favorite but I know now that on retail there is no PvP realms and NO I’m not a grave camper nor do I go after low levels and I don’t grief I have honor and I’m not just talking about the honor system in the game when it comes to WPvP.

Now the questions

How is world PvP on Shadowlands is it actually happening or am I gonna turn on WarMode and barely if not at all find anybody with WarMode on ( I’ve been on Shadowlands for a while I’m not at max yet but I’ve been going around everywhere and no one has it on even max lvls don’t either

Second question.

Excuse the noobieness but I’ve been reading that there are zones for world PvP on Shadowlands how are they for real is it the good old days when World PvP was a thing on retail or is it like what I’m reading where PLL just let you honor farm and don’t even fight back and accept being grave camped and where the Alliance players even tho they how numbers are to cowardly to even fight back against the horde?!

WHY WOULD YOU TAKE AWAY PVP REALMS???
IVE EVEN TRIED TO SEE IT FROM YOUR EYES BUT I CANT FIND ONE LEGITIMATE EXCUSE TO WIPE THEM OUT. WARMODE WAS PRETTY MUCH A THING FOR A PVE SERVER WHY PUNISH US WHO WANT TO PLAY ON A PVP REALM AND IVE READY MANY FORUMS ANDS POSTS AS TO “WHY”

I have it enabled and Ive been going around even teleporting to places to see if PLL even use it and I can’t find anyone with it on a but I wanna know before I put the time into The toon weither or not I’m chasing a mirage when it comes to WPvP on Shadowlands because all I’m seeing is negatives and honestly imo PVP realms should be brought back and PVP realms are better then WarMode i like the xpac its awesome but I just wanna know how the world PvP is cause my time is limited so if it’s not good on Shadowlands I’ll just stick to TBC

Why would you post in all caps? People find it hard to read. I see some whiny complaints like “go to a PvE server”. Hello? That argument was over 4 years ago.

Faction balance on PvP realms is inherently unstable. Once one starts to become imbalanced, it only gets worse as the minority faction stops logging in, stops leveling, or transfers. Many PvP realms by the time of Legion were PvP in name only, as one faction was very dominant and the other nonexistent.

Level scaling and world quests were introduced during Legion. This meant that levelers of a broad number of levels were playing together, as well as geared max level players doing the same content as levelers at the same time. This exacerbated faction imbalance. Blizzard responded by using crz to attempt to “balance” factions on several realms, which pretty much outraged everybody, because people actually don’t want balanced realms. They just think they do.

So we got warmode. WPvP is not nearly as popular as you think it is.

I almost never see anyone in Warmode after 60. I think killing PvP realms was a mistake.

Servers are still are unbalanced, So obviously wiping PvP realms didn’t help.

The first thing I do before I make a toon is check the realm pop and balance, and yes I want and play at the moment and have been playing on balanced servers. There is alot of info for new players on realm pop and balance and choosing a realm. My friend likes being on illidan where it is 90 H / 10 A he’s the one paying the sub not me, why punish us who want to be on a PvP realm.

What we can’t have balanced realms it’s impossible!! There is and always have been balanced realms and yes there are obviously imbalanced realms so what choose a different realm then if u don’t want that.

People have been complaining and still are to blizzard about realm imbalance they should then check the situation and give free transfers when needed we are paying monthly anyways.

There is still no REAL justification for wiping PvP servers, if in legion they had PLL playing in the same zone with varying gearscores/ lvls then they shoulda found another solution, or better yet the players shoulda got to together or better yet they shoulda PLAYED ON A PVE REALMS it’s not whining it’s just the truth.

Why did we have to suffer. I didn’t go on PVE realms and bugged them for why they liked, why did they bug us then

World PvP was and still is very popular. Both PvP and PvE realms were packed.

WarMode it seems like it has forced EVERYONE to play PvE regardless if they wanted to or not

Imagine they said no more dungeons or worse raids. World PvP and having two different factions is a thing in Warcraft why even have factions honestly

They should have never wiped PvP realms and I won’t change my opinion they coulda found a better solution…

With Warmode being a thing now, world PvP is only active in the most recent zones, right now being Korthia.

I haven’t stepped in Korthia for awhile now as I finisished the rep on my main, and I refuse to grind reps on alts. For 9.1 launch, Korthia felt like PvP Server Quel’danas, was ridiculously fun.

For 9.0 there was tons of PvP going on in the four main zones + the maw, the addition of flying mounts has killed this unfortunately, and the maw is now barren as the content is no longer as relevant.

You’ll find some PvP in the maw because of covenant calling, but its nowhere near as active as it used to be.

In legion pve server players were joining WQ/world boss groups and getting put on pvp realms and flagged so that may have been part of the reason for the change

War Mode wasn’t so horrid in BFA because they actually tried to encourage people to do it. You could get conquest points from the WPvP quests during invasions of Kul Tiras or Zandalar. Because Visions required a resource for you to farm in order to run them and they gave a WM bonus for doing the world quests that provided the currency needed, it also pushed WPvP. Those two pushing people to WPvP generated bounties on players and when you killed the bounty player you got conquest points.

They pretty much stripped all of those things encouraging people to have War Mode on out of Shadowlands. There are still bounties, but since there is no incentive to be in War Mode, they hardly ever happen.

I played on Emerald Dream through BFA, but it became apparent with Shadowlands that WPvP was just being paid lip service. Now Emerald Dream is just another PVE server so I didn’t stay.

Blizzard killed WPvP and it doesn’t look like they have any interest in working on it. Chris Kaleiki was evidently the only dev really interested in it. He pulled back the curtain when he quit to reveal how horrid Blizzard is when it comes to wanting to work on War Mode and WPvP. He didn’t have many nice things to say on his way out and by the lack of content for War Mode in Shadowlands, we can see why.

PvP servers failed and failed hard. Longterm failure was inevitable. The idea that 90% Horde/10% Alliance is good enough because it doesn’t matter if the game is playable for the minority faction is utter dreck. Faction balance was only going to get worse. Which was bad for the game. I’m sure they had data showing that minority faction members who found the game unplayable often just left to find another game rather than spend hundreds of dollars to get away from chest-beaters like you.

You act like this decision wasn’t made 5 years ago. Stop telling people to go to a PvE server if they don’t like PvP servers. You’re just beating a dead horse tossing out failed arguments.

Where do you come off and calling me a chest beater. I had some questions was looking for some answers.

Faction imbalance is still a thing, There is balanced servers, some people like the imbalance servers I know both horde and Alliance players who played on imbalanced servers on purpose even while they were the minority.

If a person didn’t like PvP realms then why would they even join a PvP realm seriously.

Because of players with that attitude we lost all the realms from PvP, PvE, RPPvP and RPPvE. I’ve played on all those realms and they were all fun in there own way.

It was always a thing with people who are just salty towards people playing On Player vs Player Realm
We lost proper world pvp
We lost war between guilds.
We lost rouges being rouges.
We lost leveling side by side the enemy factions
We lost the thrill of knowing we could attack or be attacked by other players.
We lost exciting PvP action that you could never get thru BGS or Arenas
We lost going to the aid of people in Defense chat.
We lost proper attacks on enemy factions cities/zones
We lost going to goldshire/ gates of origrimmar
We lost fighting our waiting thru a dungeon entrance because of enemy faction
We lost being a rouge and being in the opposing faction city
And much much more…
All this was part of the game from the start this is Warcraft not some random MMO.

People are wanting World PvP and PvP realms back it’s all over the internet and even In this forum.

Serious it’s everywhere if a person didn’t like PvP realms then they shouldnt have joined one. Don’t have to complain and whine and ruin it for everyone else.

I’ve played for years on PvP realms the vast majority if not 99% weren’t griefers and so what if there were griefers it’s PvP. For like 0.01% I was griefed out of years of playing and the worst time I got griefed I told the person to wait I got on my main and we fought and we both saluted each other after. People had honor most of the time people wouldn’t even join a fight if two PLL were going at it most of the time u lost and went to graveyard and they would leave u alone.
You act as if PvP realms were some kind zerg fest all the time with “chest beaters” everywhere. Yes there was zergs but they were awesome when they happened and they weren’t that common. Griefing was looked down upon and barely happened and even what it did happened the person going after low lvls would end up getting owned by a bunch of max lvls and guildmates or you just got on your main and wiped the floor with them. I can’t even count how much times I went to aid of low lvls guildmates and quite honestly that’s what made it fun.

There’s so many realms they couldn’t even have just put one PvP realm on SL and don’t even try the population card, PvP servers on TBC are the most populated on there and there were many Full PvP realms on retail when they had them

I’m done arguing this issue and I wasn’t even trying to argue. This isn’t a debate

Blizzard Should have NEVER took away PvP realms and also PvE, RPPvP- PvE realms for that matter. Other might disagree to each their own…
