World PvP life as a Rogue

I stopped pvping when they scaled the stats, i forget what xpack it was, its like why cant i one shot someone when i worked for my gear and they have no gear at all on a fresh toon… sounds kinda bad but it was a turn off for me

It’s not great. Tbh I wish we could chromie time all the way to 70. I’d looooove to just spam classic dungeons all day.

Once I hit 60, I take the boat and fly to valdrakken… Log until tw week :joy:

Sounds like legion maybe? That’s when stats were so bloated, blizz literally memed all the way to argus.
We were doing MILLIONS of dps at the time. It wasn’t strange to see 6mil+ burst dps. That’s dps by the way, not damage.

But you also had legos and talents that could one hit people…

No kidding I remember watching a video about a certain ret paladin player that was just absolutely decimating everyone in rated back in legion and no one could touch him lol just cant remember his name

I think he was on my server. He would camp the wpvp zones and one hit people with judgement. It was so absurd. A mix of legos and talents really broke some spells lol.

I mained a death knight then. We had a lego that empowered our chains of ice. If you let it stack to… it was either 20 or 30, it would crit for your FULL hp xD
Even super decked out people would get either 1 hit or brought to 5-10% hp.

Oh how I miss legion.

I will play the hell out of a legion classic server if they ever make one lol

Classic redo says nah.

pick your faction. now pick the 99.9% server for it.

Which is how warmode came to be. this happneded the first time.

Players were not taking the paid transfer. and that doesn’t solve anything really. the say 10% minority faction would jsut go to the 90% server…and make that go further down the drain too really. warmode came, pvp optional.

Only grobb didn’t do this. BUt that was because major guilds and such, both sides no less, coordinated that.

Horde guild a talked to alliance guild B…and said we are bringing 40 people to grobb. can you match that or close.

Yes!

Hate to sound jaded, I don’t think retail player base could pull this off. Just being honest.

Ruin allaince use phase/group sync games to load a phase 50 players deep. Horde whines about it.

grobbulus in wrath. Someone posts up channel 4 alliance has made it south shore zerg hour. and thus flies the requests for layer invites to see it…and enjoy.

hell in tbcc when SWP dropped no one ran the SWP daily quest pve much week 1. it was an open battlegound. Both sides. All consensual even.

Saaaaaaaaame. Legion is my favorite xpac. I’m dying for cata to hit the classic server so I can jump on that too. My 2nd favorite xpac.

Your probably right

Some people still level up with pvp on? Was sure it was long dead.

An hour on main killing a ganker until he leaves, 10 mins questing until ganked, another hour on main killing another ganker is not very productive leveling time. It was fun for the first few years of wow, then it got old.

It’s alot worse now with sharding like Quiver mentioned you get thrown into different shards all the time so you run into different gankers or you might not find the person that was ganking your leveling toon due to sharding so you can’t hardly get revenge anymore

I do not like most of cata tbh. I saw it easier as retails 80 to 90 and have to say its not loved even then.

Put it has been said its one of the better ones for pvp. So I could be there for that. But…I’d need to see the #somechanges first.

Maybe blizzcon? who knows.

You run it on the majority for faction servers.

I did this on mg many times in SL as alliance. It wasn’t until SL you risked ganks was my experience. And even they weren’t that bad.

My now frame of reference is classic series STV. that can get real bad lol. SL warmode was mild in comparison.

I think it was because it came after wrath, so expectations were high AND they did a full rework of talents then as well. Which changed the vanilla to wrath talent system.

I don’t know. There were a lot of quality of life changes to the game. It was my favorite xpac until legion launched.

cata was my friends favorite and they started in Cata so Im curious when you started? I wouldn’t know anything about it because I started in WoD but there seems to be massive division between players that played before cata and players that started at cata from what I’ve seen

I started mid wrath. I really started raiding and stuff during cata. I enjoyed the zone designs more, we got archeology, the raids were fun. Pvp was at its peak in my opinion. We got brought back to sw as the main hub.

It was just good.

WoD is easily the worst. It started off good, but quickly fell flat with content droughts, awful terrain with delayed flying via pathfinder. It alienated players by the garrison being the main hub for the xpac.
I’ve played every xpac pretty much full time since wrath, wod was the only one I actually let my play time lapse and took a break.

As bad as SL was, there was at least a million things to do.

I think I’m actually one of the few that liked SL I would not say its one of my favorite but I didn’t dislike it… whats wild and when I tell people this they get suprised but my favorites was Legion and BFA until Dragonflight came out now Dragonflight is my favorite I just don’t like the leveling too much in the dragon isles but other than that Its my favorite so far

To be clear though now my favorites is Legion and Dragonflight

Characters under 60 have a choice to be in Chromie Time or not, they don’t have to be unless that was changed, it just means each expansion stops scaling at a point, like classic will scale to level 30, so you have to than choose BC to keep levelling and so on.

your absolutely right. I leveled my rogue in BFA this time and didn’t have to chromie time and I encountered quite a few level 70’s around the entrances of some dungeons and raids or just nearby

From a gameplay perspective, it was actually good.

From a story/lore perspective, it’s the worst.

I absolutely loooooved m+ during SL. The first raid tier was a lot of fun as well. Sanctum was enjoyable. Sepulcher was very disappointing, mostly because you could very easily tell they took t3 and t4 and mashed them together in an amalgamation of meh.

Korthia was okay, boring, but okay. It was more so a chore for mounts/rep/stuff vs felt impactful for gameplay.
Pathfinder being locked until ZM was also a huge mistake.

It just goes back to story. The huge retcon that everything bad in wow since wc3 was the jailers fault was a huge big sad. Disenchanting of arthas was my personal gut punch. He was the character that drew me to wow to begin with. The lich king. We didn’t get the great return of arthas menethil in SL, we got a puff of smoke and gone forever. Still VERY salty about that.

Definitely a respectable selection. This is definitely the best xpac since legion.

True I can agree with that and what you said about ZM and the raid was meh I guess I like it because I dont have many options having started in WoD XD I didn’t like WoD all that much even though I started in it. I leveled one character to max and didn’t play again until Legion thats when I got super hooked on WoW
