It takes a lot to make a game. The writing team does not have an easy task either. I commend the effort, because a lot goes into making a game. But it just seems like you guys are going out of your way to bend the knee to identity politics. To give an example of what I mean, in the current campaign, every time you are saved it is by a woman. Every time a male leader dies, replaced by a woman. Most of the male leaders are evil. They are then killed and replace by a woman. The one time you have a masculine character save someone (Magni) he has to barrow the power of Azeroth, a female world soul. So a woman. The last one doesn’t bother me, she is a god and a world soul and it is well written. But if you look at the messaging as a whole its Men bad kill, women good leader save. I am skipping over a lot of examples to both save time and not come off as offensive. This game is fantasy about WarCraft. I am okay with 50% of the cast being female, magic exists so who cares. But the way this campaign is going we are going to end up with an all-female cast. It removes all emersion of the story and in that regard, it is poorly written. Can we please just stop trying to force female characters into the story for the sake of inclusion. Or at least can we make the story about War and not these poorly written characters? Finaly is it really necessary to feminize Anduin so much. He is literally crying or whining in all scenes. I find myself hoping he died in some of the campaign. Just try to find a strong male character in any Netflix made movie.
I don’t know anything about current WoW lore nor do I care. But it seems really strange to me when people try to make gender ratios in a game all about politics. Who freaking cares? It’s either a compelling story or it’s not. It may have more female or more male characters. Who freaking cares? The stories of these characters are either compelling and relatable or they aren’t so much. Perhaps Blizzard is out of touch with their ability to tell a compelling story. But what does gender have to do with it?
Seems to me the OP is more concerned with identity politics than Blizzard is. Kinda seems like they’re trolling to be honest.
