World of Warcraft "Total War"

I would love to see a World of Warcraft Total War (Type) game.

Imagine commanding your favorite faction / race troops to battle! Wouldn’t that be something?

I think the game would sell like crazy. What do you think?

We will never have another installment of Warcraft RTS :dracthyr_cry:

We can call it Warcraft ™️

Make a Dark Souls-like Warcraft game instead, would sell way better :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly considering how good the Warhammer ones are

I’d get a warcraft one, make Garrosh a commander and I’d never need to play another faction

Warhammer has already taken the cake in that department.

It’s a good game actually. HUGE map to conquer.

Blizzard Activision can’t make anything new. They lack the talent. They had to outsource the talent to build the systems in shadowlands, to be re-used every expansion going forward.

WC3 refunded - outsourced devs
DIABLO Immortal - outsourced devs
Diablo 2 Disconnected - outsourced devs

Development of wow isn’t even really done with developers in the traditional sense anymore, for the majority of an expansion release and it’s patches.

The development kit for WoW is more akin to the Warcraft 3 Map Maker utility.

Everything is already developed and contained within the little sandbox, like a godaddy site. You just pick the font/text/color/image and arrange them hoe you want.

They outsourced devs to do that for them during BFA development. The plan was always to put wow into maintenance mode with cut and paste systems going forward.

This is why we still have covenents/renown, tier sets, catalyst, great vault, etc.

All we got in new development with Dragonflight was DragonRiding, which is just a modified vehicle, like any other vehicle with it’s own vehicle action bar.

And Dracthyr Evokers. Ehich cant even transmog anything besides shoulders and belts. Don’t have combat animations for visage form, and can only be dps/heals, which are basically using the same exact toolkit, only changing the amounts healed/damaged based on spec.

Dracthyr Evoker feels like a class that was half developed and abandoned when they used to actually have developers, and then rushed out half baked once they put in a few pieces to call it playable.

Only reason people arent complaining on how lame they are is because they are currently overtuned to be the best healers in the game with like 3 buttons over and over.

Yes, this game needs to be darker and more ominous. The carebear dragons and power rangers theme of DF isn’t doing it for me.

it would have to be a collab with CA. CA somehow has to acquire the rights and license to use Warcraft setting in their total war games.

Will probably never happen lol and it will be too similar to Warhammer Total War

Actually. You are right. In that case, CA would be the devs and Blizzard just lends the license.

Honestly. Microsoft may actually end up doing stuff like that.

If they have any sense at least. There is far too much to be gained from expanding the franchise, rather than letting it stagnate into irrelevance.

And they bought it so… might as well make some money off it. Better than cascading it into oblivion imo.

The IP itself is probably as near and dear to my generation as Star Wars is to the generation before me.

So I take that back. If Microsoft decides to make the license available to other Developers, we may actually see some Warcraft titles in the future.

I just hope they don’t limit themselves like LucasArts did with EA.

You got a source for that? Or did you pull it out of a place where the sun don’t shine? I think your tinfoil hat is on too tight, it’s cutting off blood circulation to your brain.

I’m not your professor and you arent my employer, so I couldnt care less about a source to provide for you.

I get paid too much per hour at my job to worry about citing references for readily available facts that exist on the internet via interviews, informational releases, etc.

For some rando on a video game forum.

Google it.

But dont take my word for it, educate yourself!

Reading Rainbow.

Translation: There’s no actual source, you made it all up because you’re salty about the game. Good to know

Mortal Empires might be the greatest thing to happen in gaming in a long time.

Oh it’s out there.

I just refuse to spend 30 minutes educating you on readily available information.

I literally don’t care if you live or die, let alone whether you can locate the source of readily available facts.

I’m tempted to jump back on it, been playing Chaos too much.

After Warcraft III: Refunded?

As long as someone else makes it.

LMAO.

Someone else DID make Warcraft 3 Refunded, sadly enough.

Same with Diablo Immortal and Diablo 2 Resurrected.

Yeah…I wouldn’t have faith in Blizzard making any new good games either.

All they can do these days is recycle.
