World of Warcraft State of the Game Review

As a gamer, what do you think the state of Wow is now? Is Wow still worth playing? And what direction do you think Wow should go in moving forward.

They should just sunset the game, shut down, and start over with wow 2. Maybe dont screw things up next time.

It’s fine. I just wish we had a profession catchup.

I think for us old players, it’s starting to lose its touch. That’s not to say wow is a turd or anything, but nostalgia can only fuel a game for so long. We need something new to sink our teeth into and repolishing the same surface ain’t it.

For new players the game is essentially dead without someone guiding them. A strong-willed RPG player might be able to push through but I’m fairly certain group content will eventually end their days. We are most definitely riddled with a-holes and go-go’ers to the point it hurts everyone but the experienced.

I love this game but I really can’t see myself playing beyond another expansion or two. I can’t advocate a new player give it a shot either. There are better RPG’s out there to try and better communities to meet.

I like where the games is currently and in the future would like to see more map, raids, dungeons and PVP opportunities and less Character changes. Personally, I am not a big fan of the constant change in toon development.

I think its great, ignore the boomers who cant move on

I think the game is mostly fine. Blizzard needs to address visuals in boss fights. If you can use an inky black potion to “see the mechanics better”, that’s a legitimate issue.

TLDR: Pretty much hate everything about what Ion has made of WoW.

Can’t use dragonriding so the current expansion was pretty much dead for me and I unsubbed. Came back when they got around to enabling static flight but then they hid it behind completing the quest chains on foot. Unsubbed again.

Ion has decided to favor dragonriders over the rest of the community for all future expansions by locking static flight behind completing the main story quest chains while dynamic flight users get to fly from day one. Given that the main story quest chains for dragonfart didn’t end until 10.2, that means that I will not be able to fly for the majority of all future content.

I will not be buying future wow content on that basis, ever, not even after they enable static flight in 11.2, 12.2, 13.2, etc and discount it by %50. I refuse to have to earn flight when dragonriders get flight on day one for all future expansions. I refuse to walk while they fly or to have to beg a lift from them.

Professions are stupidly complex, time consuming, and reduce non-raiding crafters to a bad luck mechanism for raiders. I miss being able to make cool stuff for me and my husband without having to do the raid dance or the m+ race or ever have to deal with any version of the auction house. They also made me a little angry when they crippled all of my old profession tools in order to force me to use their new tool concepts. Blizzard has always had a heavy hand when forcing changes to player behavior.

The UI is a bad copy of diablo which functions poorly on a 65 inch TV.

The UI editor looks and functions like it was outsourced to a beginning programming class.

Just outsource bag/bank UI development to the Bagnon team, they actually can do moveable and resizable windows. Outsource the rest of the UI to the Bartender team.

The eternal grind of class and spec changes needs to stop. How many dungeons / raids / new systems have been lost due to excessive development time being devoted to redoing classes again, again, again, and again?

Retail - No.
Classic - Yes.

Anyone who think’s a WoW 2 wouldn’t just be a soulless shell of what came before bogged down with twice as many microtransactions is deluding themselves.

I discovered wow at 58. I’m sixty now, I play nearly every day and I love it. Sometimes I’m hoard and sometimes alliance and I’ve played every character multiple times. I love it! I wish there would be a couple more races and a couple of more classes, just to stir things up. Maybe another alien race or another hidden continent. Maybe angels and demons, or fae folk, maybe mer people and more under water scenarios. I dunno. I love it though. Beautiful graphics, great music, flashy effects.
