I really enjoyed this event. It’s very much like seasonal content in Diablo 3 and other titles and I’m frankly amazed it took this long to do something like this. It’s a fun way to level alts, earn a ton of new (and old) transmog, and it always feels like you’re accomplishing something.
I look forward to the next one and I hope we don’t have to wait over a year to get one, but I know it probably won’t happen earlier than next summer and/or whenever the next expansion is nearly ready to launch.
Wasn’t really an exploit. It was just degeneracy. Much like how the froggers weren’t really exploiting. They were just being…degenerates. It basically just involved buying the tabard with bronze and selling it for silver. But you’d need macros or an addon to actually make it realistically doable. Still a whole heap of clicking. Unless you were using an actual bot program to do the clicking for you.
agreed but if it was infact a Item they bought for bronze and was able to be vendored for X amount of gold that is blizzards fault for not Making sure of that wouldnt call it a exploit…tabard was only one i knew of and that was only 25silver Per a tabard so could only get 100k if you had 2m gold…but I a agree Gold cap transfer should be 50k
the Big one wasnt the tabard it was some other item that sold for 100g or so people posted vs the tabard which was 25silver Not sure what the item was I only knew of said tabard
My understanding is that blizz nerfed that into the ground, hence why everyone switched over to the tabard method. Or so I heard. Not sure if they retroactively punished anyone for it though. I only managed to make it out of remix with about 29k. All of that was passively collected.
much easier and quicker just to get gold in retail, why don’t blizz just move the characters from remix and leave gold behind like they should be doing to the rest of the inventory items anyways.
Harder to do it that way. With the inventory they are just deleting the Inventory file which includes all items in bags, bags, bank items, regent bank items, and everything youre wearing.
When you load the character on live it will create a new inventory file. Thats why they are mailing bags and gear to all the transferred characters.
Gold isn’t in the inventory file, its in the character file.
It was definitely quicker to get gold in Remix before the item that allowed it had its vendor price removed. Wasn’t the guild tabards selling for 25 silver, it was the gateway control shards selling for 100g.
And to be clear, this is gold generation vs ‘just sell stuff on the AH’. Gold generation has much more of an impact on the economy because it’s actually adding gold to the game, not just moving it from one player to another.
