World of warcraft "not responding" (retail war within)

Hello! I am getting a lot of freezing since the preseason patch released, and was hoping it would fix on the actual patch date but i am still experiencing issues. WoW goes “not responding” about once every key, and will come back after 30seconds-3mins. does not happen so much in bgs or delves. I do not have any crash reports as the game doesnt actually close, just goes not responding.
i have tried:
clean reinstalling
updating every single driver update available to me
disabling all addons
checking for bios update (there wasnt one)
configuring settings, specifically disabling the ones at the bottom of graphics (optional gpu features, async resource creation, multithread rendering, frame overlap, advanced work submit)
disabling discord overlay
closing all tabs on my computer
tracking temperature (its fine)
viewing memory usage during freeze (also fine)
deleted cache, wtf folder, addons folder
set all graphics settings to 1 or 0 if applicable

the freeze is never happening at specific spots in the dungeon or when i press a specific ability, but about 45% of the crashes have been when i press jade stomp, despite spell density being on essential
i am running out of things to try, hoping to get new solutions. other games run fine, and other apps are fine during the freeze aswell.
another thing im confused about is when i do a scan and repair i am always prompted to update afterwards, does this mean its finding something wrong?

It likely means files are missing or corrupted, yes. Do you have 15% free space on your drives? With only 8GB of RAM, your computer is very dependent on pagefile space for apps.

i have 10% free, i will find some things to delete and see if that fixes the issue. Thank you for the reply!

Try the Windows Disk Cleanup utility. Usually old Windows updates take up multiple gigs of storage.

update, freed up to about 22% and still froze
