World of Warcraft is Sad

so to sum up your making wow not fun for your self because other people told you to do stuff. sounds like the problem is you and those who tell you what to do and think rather than wow being sucky. wow is fun it is good and yall try hards ruin wow foryourselves.

If they would have stuck with the TBC model…the game would be in the same spot. Blizz would literally have to bribe me to play TBC, it was not a pleasant experience.

There are many other MMOs that have innovated far past what TBC had to offer, so I doubt the game would have even made it this far if that was the course they took.

Is retail sad, perhaps…successful, definitely. I guess we’ll have to see how healthy TBC is in a few weeks now that Blizz has destroyed faction balance.

I logged in Tuesday…played for 30 minutes…logged out…haven’t tried again. I think I’m done.

Shadowlands would have been better if they literally just reskinned TBC. LMAO

The real fun in this game can be found in the random battlegrounds, they got this right a long time ago and Blizzard should change their focus to this. Not eSports, not M+, not raiding…battlegrounds, it’s the last remaining strength of WoW over all other MMOs. To this very day you can have an amazing experience (even in defeat) in random BGs.

Honestly?

9.1 is so bad not even TBC can hold me from unsubbing.

What blizzard does > what blizzard expect happens

LA county is asking people to mask up again as some arent vaccinated yet which could protect against the new variant. So if there’s a new spike you can blame anti-vaxxers for making it hard to return to the office. [Seriously,it really should be mandatory to be up to date on shots at this point or we’ll never stay in normalcy,if peeps act like children then they need to be treated as such]

And don’t we thank the various game gods daily for that! Trying to imagine attunements like TBCs in the current game and failing. The rage would be, well more than I can imagine.

Im still deciding if maw farming and torghast content are worth doing for the reward. That is not something i should be considering given how both are pretty much the SL foundational content. Its just not fun to do as it, let alone meter it out into a long time gated process.

What was a major fustration in BFA having to clear all those WQ for so long for so many reasons making something i loved doing on a whim into a chore…they took that concept and applied it to every single system in SL…

Like if you are going to do this stop charging me for a sub…its not the value im upset with its the “ok you pay monthly, we wont allow you to do this content in any less time than 6 months” that i hate.

In a nut shell, older content was created when Blizzard actually had a caring heart and loving creators , this was purchased for billions of dollars by a company that clearly ONLY wants to wring the cash out of its user base and throw meatless bones to the addicted dogs that still supply a credit card for the opportunity to grow old behind a screen hating the game. I quit

I can’t disagree.

No they aren’t…I played ffxiv and had zero reason to interact with other players while leveling until you hit a dungeon requirement.

The invisible walls where makes the world feel fake.

Raids having no physical place and every boss just being in the same square room makes the world feel flat and non existent.

Imagine if iconic dungeons and raids were just square rooms lmao

all kinds of companies stayed okay during the pandemic poor excuse. maybe its the we don’t have enough employees to put content out on time. and stop blaming activision they ain’t putting the garbage things in wow it’s the people working on it. the games making money all they care about always blaming activision for wow developer failures.

all 9.1 is is just more things to grind mainly new raid gear god forbid we just put in normal tier that all you do is raid to get and it works lol. and tier stuff should of been all endgame but what can you expect from noob devs who really never worked on mmo’s much think alot of you forget that. they have very few long term people left that worked on this game. torghast is no better people whining when you ain’t trying to 5 star and adding mythic+ affixes in there sure ain’t gonna help it when tons done said it was to hard and it got nerfed now making it harder more annoying again was the answer lol. all i want is a normal expansion no systems legendaries nothing this crap is so old after 3 expansions maybe tier sets the rest be gone.

Sadly it’s true. Their 15 year old version of the game is more enjoyable than the modern take.

Dev resources aren’t unlimited.

While some people might like the “modern” storytelling in the game it takes development resources. Resources that could or would be better spent on actual MMORPG content. You know open world areas with MMORPG type goals. Big bosses, huge dungeons, special encounters, etc.

Instead modern WoW takes the approach of a platformer with really pointless in-game cinematics.

The world of warcraft is the problem and is a problem because of the design philosophy shift since WoD.

This is the heart of it. Their silence on boosting is all the confirmation I need that the artistic side of Blizzard, the company that changed the gaming world, has sold its soul for profit.

World of Warcraft is indeed, very sad.

I don’t think its sad so much. I do dislike this new version of WoW that tries to spread lesser content as thin as possible to finally get a patch that repeats the loop. It used to be when a new patch/expansion came out you’d think how on earth am I ever going to do all of that. Now if not for the time gating we all can see easily we’d have it all done in a week or two. That’s what I hate how WoW has been turned into. I get this patch had Covid to blame but honestly I don’t think we’d have gotten anything more. We would have just gotten it sooner.

I mean that’s patently false. TBC was not a “completed game.”

TBC release (the real one maybe you’re referring to Classic in which case my bad) 2.0 didn’t have Sunwell, QD, Shattered Sun or its dailies, Black Temple, Magister’s Terrace, or Zul’aman among a host of other features.
