World of Warcraft - Dragon Flight
Spent about an hour in retail WoW playing one of my old characters flying around the Eastern Kingdoms & Kalimdor listening to the music exploring and just checking out the older zones that I was so fond of while growing up
**it was honestly just sad **
**Going through them and then typing /who 1-60 to check out who might be leveling in the open world for fun or exploration and there’s literally no one… I didn’t run into a single player… even with level scaling and merged realms… you’d think maybe there might be that one guy/girl who’s new to the game or someone who’s never quested in certain zones to be out there but like I said I didn’t find anyone at all **
Why can’t Blizzard add some relevance to older zones whether it be a new monster / npc models quest world bosses some type of activities something new for your professions I mean anything at this point…
**I understand keeping some things the way they are for nostalgia purposes I get it… **
but in my opinion retail wow has been so neglected I don’t feel like blizzard looks out for the longevity of the game or has the games best interest seems at all they are too busy making that $25 mount

I don’t think they have been neglected. First off, it really depends on when you are on. MG can be dead or very alive. However, most people would rather level in the newer zones because it is quicker. While the Cata zones are much slower.
And they have been updating old zones, but very slowly. Models are getting updates almost constantly. WoW is not the only game that suffers from older content, you are just forced to go there in other games even though most don’t want to. You going to see more people in lower level zones for Cat (Which I see all the time when leveling). But when you get out of the first 2 or 3 zones, people just stop and go to somewhere quicker to level.
Also check the zone to see who is there is not the best way. It is a very inaccurate person checker. Because I checked it before and it says there is 5 people, but I can easily see that there is more than 5 myself. I also don’t think it shows the other faction.
You are also on Moon Guard, so it is going to have less leveling activity. And I know for a fact that a number of older zones are used by role players.

Although it’s true not many people are out leveling in old zones, the who list has been inaccurate for some time now and often misses players.

Also, the ocean is frequently moist, and the near-vacuum of space somewhat lacks breathable air. 
I mean… Most people are leveling through their chosen expansion, aren’t they? Until they’re forced into Shadowlands from 50-60 then can go to the Dragon Isles.
