World of Warcraft Classic: Season of Discovery Announced at BlizzCon

I have feral concerns. Survival of the fittest and wild strikes both being chest runes are a death sentence for alliance bears. Guild will make you take windfury. Are we going to have feral tier sets? Will we see more feral attack power weapons? Mcp farming just to be relevant is trash.

Yeeeaahhh … no. Stop pretending like the streaming community speaks for the WoW community. They don’t … they never will.

So, this is going to be a new server? Thus everyone will be restricted to level 25 cap? So, the goal is for everyone to start over with new rules? Admittedly, new servers that don’t have player imbalance yet is a good thing. Why not have some characters following different rules (like hero classes that start at high levels, or “experience elimination” required cap at level 25) - do these new classes need to be in competition with “max-level” end-game characters, or is it actually a new and different experience for a different characters for “end-game” at level 25. And why is this on Classic servers? If this is an entire server, why isn’t it a “normal” server with new discoveries?

I mean this is the second season, when the first season launched they hardly changed anything. They made the raids slightly harder and started pvp from phase 1. This time they are making a lot more changes. Mostly I suppose to the classes. The reason everyone is starting fresh is because seasons are suppose to be fresh progression servers. The new rule to level 25 is just a time gate,(chance to launch low level raid) it’ll than be moved to 40,50, and finally 60.

New classic content: cool. Level gating: cool. Too many abilities grafted in from other expansions: not cool.

I mean there are also anilities that have never shown up in wow. As long as they tune it correctly, I could see this being a lot of fun.

I’m curious if the race/class restrictions will be opened up as well. Would be fun to have Ne and Forsaken Paladins to try out those abilities.

Stealing Ideas LOL those other company’s should be lucky they aren’t getting sued for copyright for stealing wow Blizzard can do what ever they want its their game

yup those classic era guys said the same thing when season of mastery came out also and they all played it from start to finish and everyone who played enjoyed it, while classic era had almost no one playing still it wasnt until season of mastery ended that classic era started to get an actual player base

I’m interested in seeing what SoD will develop into. Seems interesting for different classes to be able to play different roles in the game.
Paladins getting real taunt = Wonderful IMO
Shamans getting to be actual tanks as intended in original another plus.
But will meeting stones be turned into summoning stones? Now that would be an utterly amazing upgrade to Classic - Season of Discovery!

Blizzard dev team become a team of minimalists with a completely very narrow vision and pretty much zero innovation. They tried to use season model in Diablo 2, 3, and even 4 all failed. Diablo IV was a 1-billion-dollar failure just FYI. Then they tried to use it with Diablo Immortal, and also failed. I am not sure how stupid you should be doing exactly the same thing over and over again, failing, and expecting somehow different results. Season model will kill WoW Classic, then Blizzard is going to file for bankruptcy or it will finally get sold to Microsoft Corporation that will slowly digest Blizzard and will poop it out couple years letter.

Oh wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a troll attempt fail this blatantly before.

Ignoring pretty much everything else you just made up to point out… Microsoft already owns Blizzard, where have you been?

This may make me feel a bit less useful as a warlock but you know if they did it, it wouldn’t be so bad.

I love this, tbh this means more ferals. They are given some strong abilities to start with and I can only hope for more. Wild strikes will be on your dps ferals for group buffing, and then you can have your tank use survival of the fittest for tanking, although I would have feral be an OT. Sounding like fury prot is on the menu and should be stupid fun looking at the few new abilities along, with paladins likely being a very good MT as well. Demo and Druids as OT/DPs to buff groups with WF and pact. It is gonna be a hell of a time, hopefully this can be balanced between content, specs, classes etc. Also Pummler will likely be fixed along with the wolfshead, they shouldn’t turn a blind eye to one of the biggest griefs in vanilla wow without getting a lot of lashback.

I always wanted to be a Mage with a shield idk if thats in the cards, but now seems like the time to ask nicely so please?

Hope Devs consider continuing/finishing unfinished zones/raids such as Hyjal, Grim Batol, opening ruins of Gilnaes, without adding worgen playable race of course. Just the story lines added about those in classic would be fire. There are so many open ended story lines. hundreds to be honest, I hope the take a fine tooth comb to this and take their time. seasons of discovery lol

There was a hint about expanding into unfinished zones at some point in SoD @ Blizz-Con

True about locks but for running dungs and the raid with no lock would be a lot less time consuming for groups.

Has anyone heard or seen information if Druids will get a real rez in SoD?

“If we cut out testing, we can save dozens of dollars!”
