World of Warcraft Cinematic Tier List

I’m going say that Cataclysm’s opening was S-tier for me. That narration from Deathwing was top-notch. Then just watching him tear across Azeroth bringing destruction to major areas showed how powerful he could have been. Then when he lands on Stormwind a roars was grand.

A-tier was Mist of Pandarian opening I liked the fight scene. I’m fan of Martial art classics and it gave me that feeling.

Warlords of Draenor was the best. The nostalgic callback to WC3, when Grom gets caught in Mannoroth’s death explosion and dies from his wounds, but this time Garrosh saves Grom from it—that was pure cinema.

I agree with all of these except for Dragonflight.

I did not play past the first season. We cleared the first DF raid and I was pretty done with DF by then. It’s a shame because I really missed out on season 3, but what’s done is done. I tell you that so you know I’m not a fan of DF in general.

That cinematic intro was a good one. I thoroughly enjoyed both the dragonriding part of it all and the titan construct waking and struggling to get the beacon operational. Both were very good and made me want to play.

I agree with Greenrobin on every other ranking, though.

Tough to choose. Going off of how many times I’ve watched BFA on Youtube, I would say that. Being a lover of early Warcraft lore, WOD is right behind. Dragonflight is dead last.

BC is the best because I had been waiting for Blood Elves to be playable, so it was like AMG!

Shadowlands is second because we got to see Sylvanas put the smack down on Bolvar, and snatch the crown off his head like she was snatching off his weave.

BfA gets honorable mention as a stand out.

The rest are sort of OK.

Absolutely bottom of the barrel award goes to The War Within. Anduin and Thrall crying in the desert…. what the hell

Original and BC because they at least gave a good look at something other than male humans, male orcs, female elves, and whatever new big bad is present. More variety makes the world feel bigger, like it should be.
